Technological intimacy is a marriage between innate human behavior and the successful assimilation to technology as it rapidly and constantly evolves. Intimacy is often defined as physical closeness, but can be much more. Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) videos have become increasingly popular in recent years. They often depict younger women who whisper close to a microphone and create unusual relaxing sounds. The goal of these videos is to offer relaxation and comfort to the viewer and induce a euphoric tingling sensation that releases tension and promotes an overall feeling of calmness. These ASMR videos are only a small portion of modern progressions towards technological intimacy, but offer significant insight on what is to come. Humans are extraordinarily adaptable beings and will adjust to circumstances in order to fulfill basic needs.
