...December 8th, 2010 THE DARK KNIGHT: 180 DEGREE TRUCK FLIP The seventh highest-grossing film of all time was released in 2008 in which Christopher Nolen directed a masterpiece which was nominated for eight academy awards. In the city of Gotham, the Joker is the most prominent antagonist which must be stopped by Batman in the most recently released movie about the superhero, The Dark Knight. This movie was a sequel to Batman Begins which was released in 2005. This research paper applies a broad range of physics topics to a single scene; namely the different forces in effect in this scene, action and reaction and their effects in collisions, acceleration and its role in assessing the overall plausibility of the scene, as well as different forms of energy illustrated within the scene such as kinetic and potential energy. The particular scene that will be used in order to convey all of the above ideas is just over half way into the movie (1 hour and 18 minutes in). Filmed in downtown Chicago, Batman latches a cable onto the front of a semi truck being driven by the Joker. Batman then rides his bike swerving through numerous light posts. When the cable inevitably runs out and is knotted through numerous light posts as well as other things, the truck has nowhere to go which then causes the cab end of the truck to stop, while the trailer of the truck flips up and over the cab. This scene can be found by searching “Batman truck flip” on Youtube.com. Einstein's Theory of Relativity...

...Red truck 1. A short story by Maria Behan. The Red Truck is about an almost fifty years old man. Who has to clear his things out of the attic in his mother's house, but in the start of the story, he doesn't want to do it. When he starts cleaning up the attic, he finds an old dinky truck and when he saw it and touched it, he was transferred back to his sixth birthday. It had been his favorite gift, he played a lot with the truck back then and one day he lost it. He thought that his brothers had stolen the truck, because they used to tease him. But one day he found it, and it was himself who had lost it playing in a cornfield. He didn't told anyone that he found it back then. When he leaves the attic now, he goes to his mother to show her what he found in his brothers box's. 2. When he was young, he was the youngest brother, he had 2 older brothers Peter and Shane. He was daily bullied by his older brothers. His father is the house's leader, and Fintan respects him a lot, even though the father doesn't attend to his birthday party. Fintan finds a way of escaping the bullying he experiences every day in the truck he got in a gift “the truck seemed to hint at the possibility of manliness and eventual escape from the humiliations heaped on him by Shane and Peter.” When the truck then disappears he starts claiming his brothers, they have stolen his only joy away from him. When he found it again he became dishonest, and revengeful as he discover his own mistake, so he lies...

...Miss Ormandy August 13, 2013 Trucks over cars, in more ways than one There are many different types of Vehicles. There are cars, trucks, even motorcycles. However in the last three years trucks have out sold cars four to one. In this essay I am going to give you a list of reasons why trucks are being chosen over cars. Trucks are large and have lots of room inside for passengers, and their cargo. Trucks always have plenty of leg room in their cabs. With a pickup truck you can always drive down the road and not have to worry about bottoming out over a simple rut in the road, or a speed bump. Trucks have that extra room under them to give that extra little lift between the ground and the bottom of the truck. In a truck you never have to worry about running into the curb when parking and bending down your license plate. A car will always allow you lower insurance rates. On every insurance sight on the internet, cars always had the lowest rates. Cars also get great gas millage. You can fill up your car and usually do it for around $40.00, and proceed to get all around town for a couple of days. When going on a road trip cheaper is always better, so a car is the way to go. Cars are also the original vehicle, there what many people think of as a vehicle. It was the first vehicle and some people will drive nothing else. Trucks are great for hauling things. When doing yard work, you can haul off any yard dabree by yourself. Then when picking up mulch or bark dust, it can be loaded...

My heart stop for a second and I kept on thinking to myself "papa was right." Once the truck drove by I notice that it was going towards The school that Francisco goes to. ...longer a vehicle sat the more valuable the mechanic became. The ten minute trip to Mercer was uneventful. The battery had enough juice to crank the starter once and that was it. Jerry hooked up the jumper cables and let the dead battery charge for awhile before trying again. Twenty minutes later the older truck started but ran so roughly that the marine shut it down. Digging around in his truck he found the carburetor cleaner he was searching for. Starting the engine again he sprayed a little in the carb then used the linkage to rev the motor so it didn't stall. Little by little the truck ran stronger as the carb expelled the grime through...

...truly cares about the children. She explained there were two infant rooms and four toddler rooms. I decided to observe in a toddler room. When I arrived at the center it was about 2:30 in the afternoon. The children had just gotten up from naptime and were getting diaper changes. One of the teachers was able to talk to me for a little bit. She told me that normally there are ten children in the class. But since there are only two teachers, two children are moved to different rooms everyday. The room was very inviting. There were many different boards up. The boards were different from what I have seen before. They were all white with no borders. The teacher explained to me that all the rooms at the center were the same. The boards had to be uniform so the rooms don’t become too over stimulating. Both teachers seemed very nice and I could tell the children loved them. By the time I was ready to start my observation, most of the diaper changes had been done. I asked the teacher where I should sit so I wouldn’t be in the way. I sat in the back of the classroom and started to watch the kids. When my observation was over I told the teachers thank you and I walked out. The director met me again and made sure I had everything I needed and welcomed me back anytime I wanted. Observation Notes Michael age 20 months. Curly brown hair, tan skin, brown eyes. ...A good old memory My grandfather bought a 1971 Ford F150 for $1,200 in 1995. I remember it like it was yesterday. He loved that old truck. He spent more money fixing it than the truck was actually worth. The Ford was a kind of silver/grey color with two black stripes down the middle. It had a big dent above the left rear wheel that occurred when a drunk driver side swiped it while stopped at a red light. The truck’s bed was mostly full of my granddad’s golf equipment and covered by a black plastic truck bed cover. The golf gear was not arranged or organized in any way, only he could find what he was looking for any given time. There were always empty golf ball boxes piled up on the bed of the truck. Underneath the boxes, one could find the golfing equipment. Once I got inside of the cabin, I entered a whole different world. The door on the driver side wouldn’t open at times and I would have to go in through the passenger side door. Most of the time the passenger side was full of newspaper clippings, empty bottles, cans, 2 pairs of golf shoes and a pair of sandals. Inside the cabin, it usually smelled like dirt and grass. My grandfather played golf for a living, not in the PGA or anything like that, but he always managed to make enough money to support his family. Once I finally got past the odor. I proceeded to insert the key and hoped it would start. Sometimes it did nothing, but my Grandfather told me that this could happen and he said I had to keep trying until I could...

...Jennifer Patraca Description July 10, 2012 I love my Dodge Ram pick-up truck. It’s over ten years old and we’ve been together now for half of that time. Five years ago I began my search for a vehicle and I knew it was going to be a long day so I dragged my mother along with me for the company. I planned on driving to car lots around the state because I knew exactly what I wanted. It was to be a black on black pick-up truck. I even had a couple of make and models in mind such as a Dodge Ram or GMC Sierra. So, this wasn’t going to be leisurely looking, this was a quest. While driving from one car lot to another all of a sudden something caught my eye off to the side of the road. It caught my attention so quickly as if it threw its shine from its glistening coat right into my eyes. I had planned on driving right by that car lot, figuring that they never had anything like what I was searching for. I immediately turned around and drove back. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I drew near. It was perfect. Sitting on top of a hill facing me was the most beautiful truck I’ve ever seen. It felt like it was sitting there just for me. The way the extra-large and wide grill protruded from the front of the truck made it mean looking. The dense head lights on either side of it looked like two wicked eyes. It was tough looking. The black paint looked as if it was still wet. The truck was massive and beefy. It was wider than tall sitting on four sturdy plump tires. The treads...

...table to replace our lawn chairs and lawn table, for example), but I didn't want to get involved with whatever shenanigans that will come over just getting a *second couch*. But eventually, Jonathan talked Ari and me into helping. (Our reservations had been that we thought he was going to ask us to split the cost of the furniture, reasoning that each of us would be using it. I was opposed to the prospect of paying, even in part, for furniture that I had never seen before, but it turned out that the furniture was free -- Jonathan's mom's friend was giving away the furniture, not selling it.) Soon, the day came for us to help move the furniture and we went to U-Haul to pick up the truck that Jonathan had reserved. We took Ari's car to the U-Haul place, and the plan was that Jon would drive the U-Haul truck to his mom's friend's apartment, I would be his navigator (ughggghhh), and then Ari would follow with his car, so he didn't have to leave his nice car at the U-Haul place. ...well, it turned out that Jon's driver's license expired, so he couldn't drive the U-Haul. I asked him, "Did you know your driver's license had expired? How long have you been driving with an expired license?" Jon replied, "It expired on my birthday last month...but I got it renewed in advance, so I'm not driving with an expired license...it's just...

...Susie Marks was seriously injured when the truck in which she was riding failed to negotiate a left turn. On the evening in question, Susie got a ride with Orson to the Elsewhere City Park, where she met her friend, Jerry, and his girlfriend, Kate. Orson said he would pick Susie up at 11:00 p.m. when the park closed. Jerry was a minor who had only been licensed to drive for a few months. He was driving a small truck, the bed of which was covered by a camper shell. At 11:00 p.m. they were approached by Officer Ruthless of the Elsewhere Police Department, who told them they had to leave the park since there was a curfew and the park was closing. Jerry and Kate got into the truck and Ruthless told Susie to get in the back of the truck. (This state allowed people to ride in the backs of camper trucks without seatbelts.) Susie told Ruthless she wanted to wait for Orson, or she could walk home, but Ruthless told her to get in the truck. Ruthless told Jerry: "Get everybody out of here," and that "if you guys don't get out of here, curfew will be enforced." After leaving the park, Jerry made two stops, one just four doors down from Susie's house. Susie did not leave the truck. Jerry lost control of his truck while making a left turn and Susie was seriously injured when the truck overturned. Approximately one-half hour ensued between the time the group left the park area and the time of the accident. Following the accident, Susie filed a complaint against the City of Elsewhere...
