Justin: What prompted you to be an accountant? Bridget: Well back in the 80s it was a process of elimination. I did not want to go into the medical field and I didn’t want to be an engineer. So that kind of took the sciences of the table. And I didn’t want to be an English teacher. So that left me with business. When I was in college we had four business majors. It was known accounting was the hardest, then finance, then marketing, and then management. My dad suggested to me, “Why don’t you go with accounting? Start high and if you need to drop down then drop down, but you will always be able to get a job with accounting.” And I like numbers and I’m good with numbers. Justin: Would you say your dad is a source of inspiration? Bridget: No, it was definitely not an inspired decision. It was a very logical and practical decision. Despite all the pressure, I never waive red from my belief, yet I became frustrated and began to lose the courage to publicly express my opinion on this controversial topic. To gain some insight and reassurance for myself, I attended the New Jersey Right to Life Convention in the spring of 1995. This experience uplifted me and offered great inspiration and enlightenment. At the convention I received an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement from wonderful people who advocate the very principles I believe in. This convention was so inspiring that the next day in school I was able to relate my experience to one of my biggest opponents on the subject. Also, the abundant information available at the convention enabled me to defend my position on abortion more effectively. Attending this convention accomplished two things.
