For years Baltimore Harbor has increased economic growth, has helped urban growth and has helped increase popularity, however “Baltimore Harbor is known as one of the most polluted water ways in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and idles in the Environmental protection agency’s impaired water list.” The pollution level in this water is so high that at times near jones falls, the water turns a bluey-green. This has a very negative effect on businesses and the standard of living around the inner harbor area. The main damage it has caused, is damage to aquatic species. Many different kinds of fish are found floating dead on the surface of the water.
