We don't have to look far to see this. For example, if we have a mobile phone or MP3 player, then we can quickly find out at where they were made. What about the computer that was used to prepare this article, or the printer that was used for printing? When we eat, how much of the food we consume was actually produced in Bangladesh? In short, our lives and living standards are heavily influenced by the amount of international business and trades, we conduct with the rest of the world. Due to remarkable initiatives in regard of financial and trade liberalization over the last three decades, there has been remarkable increase in the volume of international business and trades. ...role of communication research in the clothing industry in Bangladesh. The aim of our research was to show how these clothing and textile companies use a marketing communication mix for the promotion of products and brands. Our findings suggest that a properly used marketing communication mix is a factor for success in the Bangladeshi clothing industry. The research results address three groups of companies. Companies with a more developed brand name place more importance on advertising in the marketing communications mix, while the second and third groups of companies give more importance to personal selling. Differences between the groups are obvious, and these correlate to the development of a brand name. The ready-made garment (RMG) industry of Bangladesh started in the late 1970s and became a prominent player in the economy within a short Period of time. The industry has contributed to export earnings, foreign exchange, employment creation, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of women. In the 1980s, the RMG industry of Bangladesh was concentrated mainly in manufacturing and exporting woven products. Since the early 1990s, the knit section of the industry has started to expand. ...2.0 Part Two: Analysis and Findings [pic] 2.1 Background/History of Bata Shoe Co. Bd. Ltd.: [pic] The business that became the Bata Shoe Organization was established on August 24, 1894 in Zlin, Czechoslovakia by Tomas Bata, and included his brother Antonin and sister Anna. Although this business was new, the Bata name had been part of a tradition of shoemaking for eight generations, spanning three hundred years. It was one of the first modern-day shoe 'manufacturers', a team of stitchers and shoemakers creating footwear not just for the local town, but also for distant retail merchants. This departure from the centuries-old tradition of the one-man cobbler's workshop was a brand new concept, creating an entirely new industry. The Bata enterprise revolutionized the treatment of employees and labor conditions. Tomas consistently maintained a human focus, creating opportunities for development and advancement, and added compensation for employees based on achievement. As the enterprise prospered, so did the communities where it operated. Tomas believed that a focus on people and public service was critical for business success. The enterprise built housing, schools and a hospital near the shoemaking plant in Zlin. It provided food and inexpensive rent during very difficult times. Bata companies later provided rail services, construction, insurance, publishing and a tannery in Zlin. "The Bata System" devised by the Zlin team, and later applied in other Bata Shoe...

...day by day. Without having a very significant service sector it is impossible to retain the development of the economy of a country. Service sector is the accelerator of an economy. And Bangladesh is one of the least developed countries of the world with a huge number of different problems but most importantly with an emerging service sector. Really this is a great tonic for this underdeveloped country on the way of development. So to utilize this potential setting up of a lot of service organization is needed. But the service organization should not be public rather private. Because we all know about the poor service quality and negative profit of the public service organizations of Bangladesh. So the privatization of service sector is one of our desired initiatives. It is one of the leading aspects with a very bright potential to boost-up the economy of this third-world poor country. Prepared by: Md. Abdul Hai – 07882860 Essence of Privatization Despite a significant degree of public ownership in health, education, communication, utilities and energy sectors in the pre-independence period, Bangladesh inherited basically a private sector dominated economy at the time of independence in 1971. A set of three inter-related reasons are put forward as rationale for privatization in Bangladesh. These are: • Improvement of the governments’ fiscal situation; • Improvement in enterprise efficiency following privatization; and • Mobilization of greater domestic as well as foreign...
