Banksy is one of the most famous and mysterious street artists in the world. Helen Weaver, ‘’The Art in an America” magazine writer states that,” Banksy was born in 1974 and was raised in Bristol UK. When he first started spray painting, he was ten years old.” Banksy enjoyed the attention he received from the public. He loved using street art to express his emotion. In the early years the authorities worked hard to remove his pictures from public places. They considered his art vandalism, and destructive to the public property. Banksy knows that the red color will capture the attention of the people. For example, when we see a red light in traffic, we stop immediately to avoid accidents. At Disney World, everyone stopped all activities to see what the red gown art is all about. The security officers did their investigation regarding the red gown. Banksy is full of passion and courage. He knows exactly where to target a location. I think his motivation for the art with the red gown was, to ask the public “where is justice?” He is challenging the public by the display of his art. I believe he is speaking directly to the people about social justice. I feel the message of his art to the people was,” you are enjoying your time, but someone is forgotten in prison.” The art was powerful enough that it caused Disney officials to shut down part of the theme park. Banksy chose Disney to display his art because he knew people came from around the world. Disney world is a perfect and happy place for people. I think his intention is to send a message through his art around the world about social

...Graffiti is a controversial art form that evokes many different reactions and opinions. Some people do not even consider it an art, but see it as a crime. Still others see it as both. However, whether it is seen as any of these conditions, some graffiti has value within the broader urban context. The work of Banksy, for example, is highly valued by its viewers for its satirical perspectives on politics and society. Although Banksy’s work is not what many people think of when graffiti is mentioned, it certainly is because of the “canvas” which is used (walls, buildings, and other public places.) Banksy’s work may be considered more artistic than most of the other types of graffiti because he does so much more than simply paint his name in a certain style and his works lend themselves less to urban decay and are more valuable to the urban landscape. Although some forms of graffiti, such as tagging, devalue an area, the work of Banksy does the opposite due to the messages each works portrays and the aesthetic appareance each one has. Banksy started his career as a graffiti artist in 1993 in Bristol, London. He started off like other graffiti artists and tagged...

...1. Art to me is a self-expression through paintings, drawings, photos, sculpture, etc. to get a message across to the audience. I feel artist strive to get their point across and art is the best way for them. Art is actually the creativity of man as opposed to nature and appreciation of beauty. Art is beautiful to someone no matter what it looks like. There are several different forms of art they vary from paint to sculptures and graphic design to movies. My favorite art form is film. I like film because it an actual visual experience for me that you can watch time and time again. Painting and sculpture are interesting also but I feel like you can get more from a film because you can view it at home rather than at a museum. 2. Faith Ringgold was the “creator” of story quilt.
