Stepping into the battle, Beowulf was not aware of the strength and power Grendel’s mother was capable of exerting. He soon realized this, but by then he found himself amid a dangerous situation, a situation where he was on the verge of death. Beowulf took the risk to fight the beast without knowing the consequences of what may happen. This displayed a sense of trust and faith in God. Despite not knowing whether he would win or die, Beowulf took this challenge and with his complete trust in God and fought the beast without showing uncertainty or doubt.
