...When you hear the word “Class” what do you think of? When I hear that word depending on how it is being used I think of it mainly in two different aspects. The first way I think of it is in the sense of a class room setting. For example “I have to go to class”. The Other form that I think about is when it is being used to describe certain types of people. For example “There goes the wealthy class of people”. As anyone would do I decided to look up the word class and see how many different meanings the word class may have. When I looked it up I found that it had more meanings than just a class you can attend or a particular group of people. The word class can be used to describe a division. For example “ Cindy played baseball in class A for 4 years and then she finally made it to the pros.” Another way the word class can be used is to describe a year. For example :” Johnny graduated in the class of 2005”. You can also use class to describe two different things. Example “There are two different classes of detergent high efficiency and oxy.” The last definition that interest me was that you could use the word class to describe someone elegance in dress and behavior. For example “ She carries herself with a lot of class.” As I went through all the definitions I noticed that I do use the word “class” in those aspect but never really paid attention. I sat down and thought of why would those definitions come to mind when I thought of the word and I came to the conclusion...

...level school by mistake (Rose 141).”The educational system is partially to blame, according to Mike Rose. Many learners will pass through high school having undergone negative elements such as fear, frustration and boredom. Mike Rose did not escape the sour side of the educational system. Rose hadn’t stayed in school for more than two months before getting a blow on his face and having his glasses broken by the English teacher who he referred to as being troubled. This was one way fear was instilled in the students' mind. During the Spanish class with the new tutor, Mr. Montez, he was not able to settle the dispute between Billy and Dweetz which ended up into a fight in the classroom. The physical exercise teacher also had a negative impact in his life. He would make students touch their ankles and spunk them to make men out of them. Therefore, this paper will try and prove that Anyon is right when he says that schools socio-economic class determines the type of instructions students receive. When you have a poor educational system, then the future generation will be poorly equipped with skills. The only way out is to get exceptional teachers who can teach students on how to make hypotheses which is one of the key requirement to survive in any job. On the other hand, the vocational education system makes students more mediocre and poor problem solvers. They are totally unprepared to go out into the world. Such students have a culture of doing anything possible to get by Most...

If any part of a true/false question is false, the answer is FALSE. There is an example of a experiment in the textbook where a placebo could not have been used. It is on page 7 of Ch. 2. It is talking about "The Portacaval Shunt". Here, we see that a placebo cannot be used, as we cannot trick someone into thinking that they have had surgery performed on them. ...Sharish Hussain Cauley English 1102 3 March 2014 Reading Evaluation 3 – “Class” The main argument of this reading is identifiable and can easily be summarized in one or two sentences. The title and the opening few paragraphs really give away the thesis of the entire piece. The author chooses to start by diving right into his topic in the introduction. He concludes by reiterating his main point, and places a rhetorical question as the very last sentence. This is effective in this piece because it leaves the reader pondering back upon what he/she just read. The writer does provide evidence throughout the reading to support his thesis. He uses quotes from reporters and from books to back himself up. These sources do a good job at supporting his argument. They are valid and credible sources so it makes his argument stronger. He does address the opposing views by indicating why their argument is wrong however, he goes on ranting more about why he is right and not too far into details about why the opposition is in the wrong. The audience intended for this writing is most likely for a general audience because it is a topic that relates to all people of society. Perhaps the author wanted to particularly capture the attention of government officials as well as school officials as his writing is directed towards them at some specific points. The author’s credibility is strong. There is background information provided on his behalf before the introduction paragraph so the writer...

...Dream Interpretation Jami Hoffner Psychology 131 Dr. Deadre Holmes March 7, 2013 Dream interpretation is widely studied by a vast amount of people. The article includes different types of methods used by psychologist. As well unique theories of what a dream is or means, or if a dreams mean anything at all. The article talks about how people interoperate dreams into real life and how dreams effect our actions. Dreams more heavily influenced our judgment than when we are conscious stated by the article. Its funny to think that in our dreams we are more honest and truthful then in reality. This is because we are scared of what society is to think, and the effects our actions could have. In real life you can't just wake up and start over as you can do in a dream. In dreams we have more control of "our world" but when awake were in Gods world. God is the controller of our fate and we are the control of our actions. Our dreams are more like a test run to see how something will or may play out. They give you the sense of what to do, what to think, and who to be. As the article states if a woman were to wake up from a dream where her husband had an affair it could affect the way she thinks, and may lead her to start panicking and becoming curious. Leading to conclude that our internal thoughts can stimulate external actions. This article even states that dreams can some how predict what is to come or to happen, such as a death in the family or house burning. Its been...
