In Fantomina; or Love in a Maze Eliza Haywood disguises the main character which is a female whom is unnamed and knows that there is no way she could ever be with “Beauplaisir”, the man in which this female character is trying to come to. So within the story Fantomina disguises the female as 4 different woman trying to seduce the man in which she desires. One of the many disguises she uses is a female courtesan, in doing so she actually finds herself enjoying time conversing with Beauplaisir, whom is a wealthy and handsome young man according to Haywood. When this young female is speaking to the man Haywood writes that
