Although I do have experience in being coined, I have only done so a few times in my life. It only occurs if I request that my mother coin me whenever I have a fever. As she makes her way down from the superior portion of my back, towards my rib cage, the pain becomes more intense as she gets closer to the more bony regions of the ribs.
