The story of Moses traces its root back in the time when God appeared to Abraham and

spoke to him about the things that will happen to the people of Israel; He told Abraham how they

will be mistreated and enslaved for about 400 years and yet will bring them back to their own

land with great possession and victory. Accordingly, Abraham's grandson Jacob married two

wives; Leah and Rachel. Leah was unloved by Jacob as a result was mistreated by her younger

sister. Leah's outcry reached the Lord's ears and he responded by giving her a child which she

named Levi. The way the child was named was unique and prophetic. Leah unaware prophesied

She was preaching to herself the word of exhortation that her

husband might love her and come close. In other words, Leah was unknowingly prophesying the

future spiritual significance that took place in Levi's life. Then, we can assume that the bedrock

of Moses' life and calling was originated from Leah's prophetic naming. As Paul claimed his

calling by proclaiming: “But God who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace ...”

( Gal 1:15), we can also consider Moses' calling as initiated from birth by the Lord himself.

Moses' birth in Egypt

According to God's foreknowledge, Moses was born in Egypt at a time of affliction, grief

and bondage when the Isrealites were governed by a hostile king. His birth, escape from

death and all the events of his youth were under God's direction and protection. According to this

Moses' event, we believers need to know that God also works in our lives using appropriate

means to accomplish his will. It's clear that the Lord can even use our enemies for our benefit. we can conclude that the Lord already designed and preserved him miraculously for his great

purpose.
