According to the Organizational Behavior third edition book the A- Team was consisted of five people, who didn’t know each other. They consist of Rebecca a 27 year old Marketing Manager, Aran a 52 year old Founder and CEO for a large Italian Fashion Company, Katie a 32year old Financial Analyst for a Wall street firm, Cameron a 23 year old Internet Entrepreneur who has his own small company, and last Pranarisha a 31 year old Manager for a non government organization that provides supports to poverty stricker area of Thailand.

The A- team would have been ok if they haven’t had a member like Aran with the big head. Aran thought he could just place the other four because he had the most experience. I think Rebecca was right to let Aran know before it got started. The three was wrong for meeting without Aran and Pranarisha deciding whose going to do what part without them been present or giving the two a call while everyone was present. I think Aran age played a big part in this group because he was an older business man with adult kids and he probably look at the group as kids.

I think Pranarisha shouldn’t have walked out without expressing her oppioion to the group before going to tell the professor. Professor Bowell was right for disbanded the group because everyone had the big head. It was so unfair for the group to over look Pranarisha.

Discussion Question
What happened to the A-Team?
The A-Team didn’t last because everyone wanted to be a leader. Aran thought because he was older and had more experience than the other group he could tell everyone what to do his way. Katie, Cameron, and Rebecca meet without the Aran and Prnarisha to do things their way which was wrong. The group couldn’t didn’t last because they wasn’t team players.
Why did the group process break down?
The process broke down because everyone in the group wanted to do what they wanted to do. Also they ran off one of their members before the assignment got started.
What dimensions of diversity were responsible for the conflict?
I think age and positions had a lot to do with the conflicts. The reason I said positions look at Aran he thought because he was older and the founder and CEO of a company that he had more experience than the others. The rest of the group was just young and bossy.

Q2: Describe which barriers to effectively managing diversity were present in this situation.
I think it was lack of understanding. I chose that because no one wanted to listen to the others. Everyone had a big head because of their achievements and Aran especially thought it because his position I would say. I think the group would have going well if Pranarisha had said something other than running off. They would have been great because Rebecca had gotten herself together and tried to calm the group down. If Pranarisha didn’t tell the Professor I think Rebecca could have reached out to Katie and Cameron.

Q3: What could have been done to manage the group process better?
In my opinion Professor Bowell should have assignment everyone parts and stead of disbanding the group and everyone would have been responsible for their own part that the instructor provided.
