... Regarding the first factor, the Web site can be best characterized by analyzing the connectivity of the Web pages and the number of the in-line objects in each page. Based on this connectivity, a Web user can follow a series of links to browse the Web site, by either clicking the hyperlinks or typing the URLs. Because user’s request are responded to differently from target web servers, This may lead to different logs for the same page being accessed by different users or through different paths. With regard to the second factor, the browsing behaviors are determined by the way users access Web pages, i.e., which Web pages they choose and in which order. In considering the factors described above, we now introduce our User Web browsing behviour monitoring model(propriotory logfile). When a logged in user click a hyperlink pointing to a page, the browser send out a number of request for the page and its contents. A logfile which is hidden from the user records the HTTTP (GET and POST) request of the user's click behaviour and activities performed on the web application. This log is responsible to generate logs for all user's (normal or malicious). Data for analysis capture by the logfile include username, ip, activity, activity time, ulr of from pages, browser used and time the web application was first accessed. The importance of the log is to take into account the user's series of operation information. The dwell time that a user stays on a page while trying to...

...Value consensus is a term which refers to general agreement about norms and values amongst the members of society. Different theorists believe in different functions of the education system, some think it as promoting value consensus and some see as a method of control. Functionalists and Marxists have opposing views on the function of education which I will discuss in my essay, I will refer to sources from Durkheim, Parsons, Davis & Moore, Althusser and Bowles & Gintis and Willis and assess the function of education. Emile Durkheim, a functionalist’s view of education is that it teaches us the norms and value of society. Education helps to unite all the individuals of society which creates a sense of belonging and commitment to that society which he calls social solidarity. The way to reach this stage of harmony in society is to have norms and values which everyone agrees on. A way to criticise this idea is that the UK has become a multi-cultural society in which different people from different parts of the world live together. This means that we all have norms and values from our cultures which might lead to a conflict rather than value consensus as our values will go against each other. Another function of education in the case of Durkheim is that the school is a miniature version of school in which we are taught things in that prepare us for the future when we are in employment. Aspects such as ‘register’ throughout our school life teach us that punctuality is very vital...

...of caffeine. Systolic and Diastolic BPs were elevated on the day caffeine was consumed, and the elevation was most noticeable shortly after ingestion. The experiment was repeated multiple times. Even though this study is slightly outdated, this the experiment is extremely useful as it clearly shows the effect that the caffeine content in coffee has on heart rate and blood pressure. While this study focuses only on the effect of caffeine on blood pressure, heart rate we can clearly see through this experiment that caffeine, when consumed has a stimulating effect on the human body. This study can be seen as reliable as it was repeated several times in order to obtain accurate results. In their scientifically valid journal, Physiology and behviour, Smith, Clark and Gallagher (1999) examined the effects of breakfast cereal and caffeine on the working memory, attention, mood and cardiovascular function. 144 volunteers of men and women around the age of 21 were assigned to one of the groups: Coffee and breakfast cereal or Breakfast cereal and no coffee. The breakfast/coffee consumption took place between 8:45am and 9:15am. The subjects then completed a test session (starting at 9:45am) and had a break at 10:45am, followed by a final session starting at 11:45am. The results showed that those who consumed breakfast cereal and coffee had a more positive mood at the start of the test sessions, performed better on a memory task, and felt calmer at the end of the test session than those who...

...We will be discussing business ethics and social responsibility in our presentation today, and relating these theories specifically to the News of the World phone hacking scandal that broke in 2007. This scandal involved journalists and editors of the publication, News of the World illegally hacking into people's phones in order to access information that would not have been available to them otherwise. Though exact numbers are not known, lists of phones were confiscated listing thousands of mobile numbers, including the numbers of members of the royal family, some celebrities and the families of soldiers, terror and murder victims (BBC News UK, 2013). The scandal was further complicated when members of the London Metropolitan police engaged in behaviour that covered up or misrepresented the legality of the actions undertaken by the paper (BBC News UK, 2013). So to start, what are business ethics and social responsibility? Ethics are not easy to define. They represent a social contract between individuals of a given community, and define what a person ought, and conversely ought not, to do, (Andre & Velasques 1987). However, ethics are not defined by individuals, but rather represent the values of the largest majority. This means that the things an individual values may not be congruent with acting ethically as is defined by the community. This conflict is representative of an ethical dilema. This occurs when an individuals values contradict the behaviour that the code of ethics...

...Consumer Buying Behaviour: Implications of Consumer Attitudes for Marketers in the Context of UK Food Retail Sector Word Count: 3006 Consumers are the center of every business’s attention. It is essential for every marketer to know about the needs and wants of the consumers. To know that, it is necessary to know how consumers make decisions regarding the purchase of products and services. The following essay throws light on consumer behaviour and its implications for marketers in the context of the UK food retail sector. Consumer buying behaviour is a process through which the consumers make decisions regarding how they spend their resources on items they need or want. These resources include time, money and effort (Sharma, 2006). Solomon (2010) is of the view that consumer buying behaviour is a process which the consumers go through when evaluating, purchasing and disposing of goods and services. According to Johan, Johan and Anneki (2007:38): “Consumer behaviour comprises the behaviour patterns of decision units (individuals as well as families) which precede, determine and follow on the decision-making process for the acquisition of need –satisfying products, ideas and services” The future behaviour of the consumers can be predicted by analyzing their current buying and consumption patterns (Kotler, 2008). The study of consumer behaviour not only takes internal factors into account but also the external factors which are responsible for influencing...

Of which 19 to 24% of Australian school age children are overweight or obese.2 Whilst researching this issue I came across Bowen Athletics Club who investigated the influence of improving food choices in their canteen had on their members. Many of their strategies incorporated initiatives that had been tabled within the Eat Well Queensland project, which looked at Social Determinants of health, productivity and cooperation from local and state governments and non-government agencies. I will then conclude that based on evidenced sourced that the actions and strategies that the Bowen Athletics Club used seemed sufficient enough in changing attitudes and behaviours of it’s members. ...Decision to Buy a Business in Urban Entrepreneurship: A Process Perspective and Contextual Influence by Edwin Lee, Theresa Lau and K.F. Chan _______________________________________ This paper examines the decision making process of buying a business in urban entrepreneurship. A conceptual framework is developed to explain the buying behavior with reference to strategic decision making process. The: rational, emotional and dependent decision making process is hypothesized to relate to decision outcome of buying a business. When making a strategic decision which involves a large amount of money, other contextual factors also affect one’s decision. Among them, economic environment, relevant experience and investment budget are of particular importance. Without understanding human behaviour it is very difficult to work in an organisation. In order to understand human behaviour let us see how the perception of human being has changed from time to time. All organisations are composed of individuals, with different personality, attitudes, values, perception, motives, aspirations and abilities. The main reason to understand behaviour is that individuals are different. No two individuals are similar. In the early studies, theories of organisation and management treated people as though they were the same; scientific management was based on the similarities among workers, not the differences...
