The Beriberi disease is suitable for applying the scientific method for many reasons. For example to use the scientific method a question is needed and the primary question for Beriberi is, "What caused this illness?". This question is what lead researchers to the Dutch East Indies to find out how the illness came about. While it took years to research, it is completely possible to apply the scientific method to this disease and it has already been done multiple times throughout the years. Another example is, how originally the experiments began with finding a specific bacteria but instead it ended based on the understanding that the illness was instead based on a vitamin B deficiency.
