...Murder Gene This is not a scientific or forensic expert term per se but is a term made popular by the media to refer to particular variant of the monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) gene which apparently predisposes an individual to disproportionate violence under any condition that triggers the carrier of that gene sequence to violence. As referred to in Mobley v State, "a possible genetic basis for violent and impulsive behavior in certain individuals." Also known as the rage gene and even more commonly, the warrior gene because of the theory that persons with this gene would likely have been the most efficient: berserk warriors on a field of battle. The murder gene, the theory goes, suggests that behavior and activities from infancy into childhood, and through adulthood, were not the products of free will as society defines this term because the individual lacked the ability to make non-impulsive, considered choices about his life's path.1 Authors Ishikawa and Raine suggest, in their 2002 article, that though then viewed by the courts as exotic evidence: "There are simply too many studies, in too many countries, using different methodologies that converge on the same conclusion: genes do play a role. Second, other, potentially less controversial fields of behavioral trait research have not only identified heritability in psychiatric disorders such as autism, schizophrenia and reading disability, but also in personality traits such as political conservatism. "Thus, it would...

...The flow of information between the government and the press in any nation across the globe is a sensitive ‘flow’ to put it mildly. Sensitive as there are many protocols in place to guide this ‘flow’. These protocols are in place to ensure a just reciprocal relationship between the government and the press. That is, it is the job of the press to act as a watch dog for a nation’s citizens, as it is long believed that a free media is the key to an effective democracy; and that it is the job of a government, to govern justly and in turn act as a watchdog for its citizens, to ensure the press does not violate their human rights as well as take action on parties choosing to engage themselves in criminal activity. In 2005, one of the biggest if not the biggest and most public phone hacking scandals came to light. The scandal in question is none other than the “News of The World” phone hacking scandal. (Chandrasekhar. Wardrop. Trotman. 2005.). The nature, size and impacts of the scandal were so immense that it led to not only several cases of litigation over the span of 6 years but also more on going cases outside of the scandal as a result of evidence collected, ultimately culminating in the closure of the “News of the World” in 2011. (Chandrasekhar. Wardrop. Trotman. 2005.). Moreover, in 2007 former British Prime Minister Tony Blair delivered a speech in regards to the scandal which very much relates to this essay. He said in a statement and I quote, “I do believe this relationship...

...some money to feed her children. On her way to the supermarket buying some food, a casually dressed man who had been observed the situation follows her and pays for her food in the supermarket. She follows him out preparing to quarrel with him but instead he invite her on coffee and sandwiches. The man tells her that he used to work in a DHSS office and then she just got angrier than before because the DHSS are striking and then she can’t get any money for her rent or food. He asks her how many kids she has, but she won’t tell him anything, she’s still angry. Then he starts telling her how the DHSS worked with people before everything slowly went to pot. The atmosphere wasn’t good anymore so it wasn’t the same helping people. A girl went berserk and bit him ones. He gave her some money and she took them, walked into the shop again. He was sitting there waiting for her, full of frustration. She came back laden, finished her sandwich and he ask her to drive her home. But she don’t trust him, she trust no one. He persuades her, so she let him drive her about a mile down the street. She got out and thanked him. He looked at her turn into a street he knew she did not live in. He staid in the car, same place she walked out. Waiting for her to look back and smile, but she...

...Fan Bases Fans are important for motivating their team and making it hard for opponents to play well, whether they are bandwagon fans, completely berserk, or almost non-existent. Loud, lively fans motivate their players to play better and make it a disadvantage for the opponents to play them. The Cameron Crazies of Duke Basketball are some of the most dedicated fans in basketball. For rivalry games, over a thousand Cameron Crazies camp for three months in Krzyzewskiville, or the makeshift city the fans make outside Cameron Indoor Stadium, just to get a spot for the game. They go to every game prepared with chants and have even made cheerleaders of the opposing team cry. Some television networks had to turn off the sound temporarily during the game because of the chants. Next, bandwagon fans only root for their favorite team when they are on a winning streak or have won a championship. After winning a NBA Championship in 2012, the Miami Heat was notorious for having the most bandwagon fans. It was especially obvious when fans walked out of Game Six in the 2013 NBA Finals a few minutes early and missed watching the Heat comeback for the win. With the 2013 NBA Championship win, they have the most bandwagon fans in basketball. Finally, some fans almost never attend any games. The Eastern Michigan Eagles have the lowest attendance in college football with the average of a sixth of the stadium being filled each game. More people show up to watch big time programs like LSU practice...

...Contents * I. Pros and Cons of playing a Lord Knight * II. Types of Lord Knights * III. Best places to Level * IV. PvP and War of Emperium (FE,SE) * V. Final Notes I. Pros and Cons Pros Omnipotency – a Lord Knight is effective in almost all areas of the game. They can MVP, PvP, WoE, PvM. They can dish out an effective amount of damage in all these areas, they can tank, they can level solo, level in a party – they have the ability to do everything. Attack Speed – Lord Knights can achieve the highest aspd available in game probably the most easily compared to any other class. Variety – There are numerous builds related to a lord knight – Spear, One Handed Sword, Two Handed Sword, Bowling Bash, Spiral, MvP-Pierce, Berserk Build, and numerous more. Lord Knight is probably one of the most flexible classes in the game. Cons - LKs are good at everything, but not best at anything. They are able to do everything really well, but not the best in game. Lord Knight is basically “second” in everything – snipers out class Lord Knights for PvM, assassin crosses outclass Lord Knights for killing abilities, paladin outclasses Lord Knight for tanking. Gear dependant – I would say LK is one of the most gear dependant character to play with in...

...“JOURNEY TO THE INTERIOR.” The poem “Journey To The Interior” is written by Margaret Atwood. This poem was written in 1960’s. This poem belongs to the “Confessional School of poets”. These poets believed that as a result of the post world war genocide, atom bombs and concentration camps, human psyche has been damaged to a large extent, leaving the poets with the responsibility to explore their own recesses of darkness. Margaret Atwood was deeply influenced by this urge to embark upon such an inner and imaginative journey. The poem “Journey To The Interior” portrays Atwood’s attitude on inner journey to discover oneself. She presents a metaphorical journey to explain a journey into the mind. She examines human behavior’s reasons, understanding one self’s mystery, lack of knowledge of individuals about themselves. Atwood has composed a metaphysical journey contrasting the similarities and differences. Her fascination with the bizarre fluidity of identity and its mystery is the focus of thy poem. The first paragraph establishes the similarities between physical and metaphysical journey. The usage of the personal pronoun ‘I’ in this introductory paragraph establishes the personal experience of the poet as it is her who undertakes the physical journey in the poem’s case an awful; bush walk. The poem starts off with a factual matter of fact in bush. The pairing knife and white mushrooms suggest the distraction that little experiences can cause and sidetrack...

...As technology advances in today's world, people start to lose confidence and skill in themselves and others. By that I mean, we start to have computers do everything for us, ex: we use calculators to do our math, GPS’s to navigate, and lets face it, we all look up answers for our homework on google. We rely on technology to do basic things. Remember the movie series that goes by the name Terminator? Yeah the movie when the robot man goes berserk and kills everybody. Im aware that that's Hollywood, but consider the following: We programmed the robot, We created it, We told it what to do, It learned, It turned on us. So when we program for say, a car, what makes you think that it won't go out on its own. The car would have GPS systems that can take it wherever it wants on land, It has sensors to know when itd need gas, and it doesn't have to stop if its systems said otherwise. What i'm saying is that with some slight corruption, somebody can create a faulty program in the car, that causes it to do something that the operator doesn't like....

...Every day, day by day I hear it’s a girl’s job to handle certain tasks, but after the abortion policy, the focus is not just on women anymore but also on pregnant ones. Inside my Neighborhood and there were many quarrels, but one day it took off to another level where the police were needed. It started in the evening when everybody just hear about a residence named Suzie chance who was going to have an abortion. I was just going to check for mail until I heard banging, (KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!), it was startling but I needed to investigate where that noise was. Then from my far left, I noticed another residence at someone’s porch and noticed, that’s Jose Martinez in front of Suzie’s porch. With the top of his lungs, I hear “Come out” and he was...

...Formulated with an array of colorful impressions and obeying to complex yet well-shaped forms and textures, everything sounds terrific here: the exuberance of the theme statement, a semi-chaotic passage favoring the collective, the wholehearted improvisations by the horn players and their cutting counterpoint in conjunction with Escreet before the reinstatement of the theme. “Unexpected Reversal” is another assault to our senses as it squeezes the spatial folk fulgor of the whistling keyboards on top of the cyclic horn movements. Vinson and Potter improvise eloquently in a ping-pong style before Sipiagin steals the melodic conduction to himself. The atmosphere goes berserk when Escreet establishes a demarcation point for his outlandish explorations on the Prophet 6 synthesizer. While “Blues for Mike” touches the traditional post-bop ways, the cerebral “Bergen Road” advances with a straightforward attitude, opening a breach for Harland’s rhythmic inspiration before the final...

...Fingerprints were removed because the killer rubbed gasoline on the contents of the envelope. The lead detectives, Hansen and Finis Brown, chased and examined leads or linked this case to others. They never reached the murderer of Elizabeth Short. Hansen even stated, “She just asked for trouble. She probably went too far this time, and just set some guy off into a blind, berserk rage.” Hansen was referencing the fact that Short enjoyed spending time with strangers at the multiple night clubs she would attend. At the time, 26-year-old, Ralph Asdel was called in to help investigate the Black Dahlia tragedy. He believed that he had interviewed the killer already, but there was not enough sufficient evidence to take him into custody. He tracked down this man by acting on tips such as when “A neighbor in the area, according to newspaper accounts at the time, told police that about 9 on the night before Short's body was discovered, he had driven by the empty lot on Norton Avenue and saw a light-colored 1935 sedan on the west side of the street with its right rear door open”...

...Renita Roberson Eng.1302 W.34 Professor Miles April 28,2016 Reversion of Parole for Member of the Mason Family Dear Governor Jerry Brown: I am writing this letter as a petition in hopes of appealing the decision granted by the California State Parole Board to allow Leslie Van Houten consideration for freedom. Your decision reversing the board’s grant of parole for Ms. Houten’s release from the California Institution For Women should solely be based on substantial evidence that Houten is a dangerous threat if released back into society. With murder being the most inhumane act of crime, the continued punishment should be of a comparable caliber. It takes a great degree of motivation and psychological repugnancy to commit to the horrible acts in which Ms. Houten participated. There is an overwhelming mental barrier between final acts of defiance, and who is to say that once Houten is released she would be able to have full control of that barrier? Leslie Van Houten savagely held a pillow over Rosemary La Bianca’s face and watched as her family of cult members brutally murdered Mrs. La Bianca and her husband. Not only did she watch the attack, but also she admitted to violently stabbing Mrs. La Bianca a merely sixteen times even after realizing she had already been dead. This shows how much of little value human life means to her, because she engaged in committing a crime towards someone she’d never came into contact with prior to that night. Also, her consciousness...

...marks happened at the Old State Capitol. The Old State Capitol has many important events in its history. The Old State Capitol is a reconstruction of Illinois’ fifth statehouse. It is the first in Springfield and served as the state government from 1839 to 1876. During the dramatic Civil War years, the Old State Capitol was an important role in the Lincoln-Douglas political struggle. The two candidates had very important speeches to show how they would help the country. Lincoln however told the most famous speech in the Old State Capitol, and that was the “House Divided Speech.” In this speech he talked about how a house divided by itself cannot stand. He wanted to bring the Union together as one. However like all other people something berserk happens. Lincoln was assassinated on April, 15 1865. He is buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery, In Springfield, Illinois. Abraham Lincoln's career started and ended in Springfield. Although he was assassinated in Washington D.C, they brought him back to Springfield. After all, he is with his family still. Abraham Lincoln, his wife, and 3 of his 4 sons are also buried in that same cemetery. Abraham has a ginormous tomb, and his family members are located right next to him. Lincoln originally was just in a regular casket and was just buried under ground. But a few years later they built an enormous tomb, and put Lincoln inside. It almost seemed like Lincoln's career ended before it even really started. Springfield is full of amusing historical events...

...Paragraph 1 1. Thesis/Introduction 2. Financial advisor/lawyer 3. Money Issues Paragraph 2 1. Investments 2. Maintain income Paragraph 3 1. Family 2. Debts 3. Education 4. Conclusion We all at least thought about hitting the lottery and what we would do with all that money, but will it be the key to a promising future or a downward spiral of debt. Statistics have shown around 70 percent of lottery winners go broke after of couple years of winning. This is due to winners going berserk afterward with a lot of irrational spending and not enough planning. If I won the lottery the first thing I would do is hire a financial advisor and a lawyer. I think this is where a lot of winners make a crucial mistake by not sitting down with an advisor and make a long term and short term financial plan. My lawyer would be there to stop any scam artist, long lost relatives or convenient lawsuits that may arise. I may hire a personal accountant as well although I have trust issues with someone handling my money but it is something I’m willing to deal with to be financially successful. After I get all the initial safety precautions out of the way I would turn my attention to investing. I think investing your winnings wisely is a very big part of keeping a lottery winner from going broke. I would invest my money in mutual funds and bonds so that I got back a nice annual figure, that would then become my annual budget. With this tactic...
