Has anyone unexpected made a tremendous difference in your life? During my freshman year of high school I was lucky enough to join Best Buddies program. The goal of Best Buddies is to give opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I was an associate member my freshman year which means I came to meetings but did not have a one-to-one friendship. I fell completely in love with Best Buddies and became a peer buddy my sophomore through senior year. I have had three different one–on- one friendships with three amazing individuals both with intellectual and behavioral disabilities.
