...Reasoning Aptitude Paper: Haywood Lewis University of Phoenix Consulting/MGT 527 Catherine Garcia July 21, 2013 The Aptitude Test is a good tool to help a person determine strengths and weaknesses. They are very useful for individuals considering joining the military or agencies trying to match candidates in the civilian workforce. Aptitude Tests are classified as speed test and determine how many questions that a person can answer correctly in an allotted time. Speed test are normally used for clerical and administrative jobs. Professional and managerial type jobs use the power test. The Aptitude Test confirmed that I work well in careers where success comes from applying practical skills and where thinking is used mostly to solve practical problems. That was a very good assessment. I really enjoy jobs that allow me to think and use my natural skills and leadership ability. It also showed that I place values high on my priority list. I believe that having good values is the key to success. Having good values and ethics in the workplace, helps the organization keep order and allows the company to function smoothly and remains profitable. Individual values should align with company values in the workplace. Integrity is the value that I think is most important in the workplace. It is important to display honesty in the workplace at all time. Employers want to know that they can trust you and that you are going to do the right thing at all times. ...

...Best Game Productions Dilemma Best Game Productions is facing an urgent business dilemma. It has been working for two years to create a highly anticipated video game, but during the beta tests in which the company asked selected reviewers to play the game and provide feedback, it has discovered a major bug that hurts the quality of the game. It has generated enough buzz for the game’s release and the release date has already set for the coveted holiday season, which is not enough to fix the bug. Customers are anticipating the game’s release for a long time and marketing materials for the release date have been already deployed. If Best Game Productions proceeds to release the game according to the schedule, the game will be of lower quality and a disappointment to customers from quality. If Best game Productions fixes the bug and delays the release, it will not only disappoint its customers from anticipated release, but it also risks that its customers use holiday sales and purchase competitors’ products. This business scenario involves multiple internal and external stakeholders and as Post pointed out, in order to address varied and dynamic concerns of different stakeholders and eventually find the best solution for Best Game Productions, it is important for a consultant to consider all important stakeholders’ perspectives. First, let’s identify who are internal stakeholders and who are external stakeholders that a consultant needs to take into account. The internal stakeholders...

...Date: August 1, 2012 Re: Talking Points for Customer Inquires CC: Executive Leadership Team As you all know, ‘Game Wars – Journey to Mars’ is scheduled to release in November, 2012. Over the past two years, developers have been working day and night to create the latest edition to the series. On June 1, 2012 beta testing began and game reviewers began to share their findings with the public via a variety of social outlets creating a buzz in the gaming community. Marketing campaigns to promote the holiday release began in July 1, 2012. Pre-orders were made available on July 15, 2012 which quickly began to threaten supply versus demand. On July 17, 2012, a bug was detected in the game that dramatically impacts the quality of game play. As a result, Chief Executive Officer, Walter Goodwyn hired a team of consultants to dissect the issue and determine the best course of action. After careful consideration, we are planning on releasing the game on time with the intention of releasing a free patch to correct the issues. The patch will release in January 2013 and will include a promotion code for gamers to purchase an in-game premium item of their choice. As you know, we pride ourselves on our ethical principles to our customers and community. Walter Goodwyn’s motto is “An ethical company is a thriving company.” Customers remain loyal to Best Game Productions because of our ethical principles and practices. ...Unit 69: Exploring concept art for computer games What is concept art? Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in video games and animation before it is put into the final production. Concept art can also be referred to as visual development or concept design. Uses of concept art in games development There are many different types of levels in the production process: • Initial concept art initial concept art can be started from verbally or visually the artist will sometimes receive a rough concept design and told to refine and develop the concept further. A concept artist is an individual who generates a visual design for an item, characters, or area for game levels i am going to focus on thumbnails but there are more like storyboards and quick illustrations Thumbnails With thumbnails you start by thinking about a character that you would like to produce. like what weapon, body shape and poses that you would like your charter to have. Once that has been decided you can start with some ruff sketches. Image 1 This part of the process is the main creative part as you have what you charter will look like. These images do not have to be clean just a loose guide to show you what they will eventually look like. Chances are that you will probably only like about 2 out off maybe 10 that you make. but you try to illustrate with black lines what direction that the body will take shape. Image 2 You can use pretty much any element of character...

...be more focused on the long term effects and focus more on how they see themselves not how others will view them. In this situation I believe Rani Pharmaceuticals should ask themselves, “ Even if it will increase sales , and follows the law, is it a right decision for me and my company personally? Will it hurt me later on, or will it better my company in the long run”. This outlook is focused more on the cause and effects of decisions, with taking into account future possibilities. Preconventional morality focuses more on selfish and self centered decisions. They do not take into account how their decisions will affect the company’s future, instead they focus on how they can benefit now. In this situation it would be in the pharmaceuticals best interest to apply the postconventional practice. In the AMA statement of ethics it is clear that under the fairness tab, that companies should uphold and respect the privacy of their customers and reject manipulations and sale tactics that would harm the relationship between the company and the consumer ‘s trust. In Rani’s pharmaceuticals situation by giving their customers information to the other company the would not only break and ethical and moral norm, but they would also be going against the statement of ethics. Case 2: To outline a SWOT analysis, we need to review the company’s, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and...

The article suggests understanding all sides provides the best results for a decision. The proposal submitted to BGP’s CEO provides communications from all sides and a solution for all sides. The article looks at the differences in arguments which are a form of persuasive communication. Persuasive communication is an attempt to make change or agreement to a person or groups point of view. The article peaks in to how “one-sided” and “two-sided” communication is used to persuade results of a particular subject. The author provides case scenarios and analysis that show outcomes of each type of communications. The article has relevance to the Big Game Production (BGP) scenario based in the methods of effective communication. It examines two experiments to contrast between the two and explains the results of each. The outcomes show that both communications are an important part of persuasive communication. When comparing the article to Big Game Production scenario it is seen that in order to be persuasive through communication it’s important to look at all options to be able to present the best results. “The first group was presented with a recording outlining the arguments for the prosecution and defense. This case on both sides were presented as one-sided and two-sided versions, the outcome resulted, in as predicted, in neither primacy nor regency” (Insko...

...Sony Corporation and the Video Game Console Market: 1 A Competitive Analysis By Ryan Bogner, Peter Hung, Guan Wang, and Steven Wang This report evaluates Sony Corporation’s strategy in the console gaming market from the top-down perspective of the entire corporation. 1 Executive Summary Sony’s current strategy in the video game console market is simple: use the technologically superior Playstation 3 as a loss leader to introduce the Blu-ray optical drive2 into consumers’ homes and leverage that market penetration to drive content sales once Blu-ray is established as the de facto standard for optical storage. It is therefore in Sony’s interest to reach the tipping point for market adoption of Blu-ray as soon as possible. To increase the rate of Blu-ray adoption in the market, we recommend that Sony adopt a “good-better-best” strategy, whereby Sony produces discounted and premium versions of the current Playstation 3 for sale to consumers. This strategy will encourage price-sensitive customers to purchase Playstation 3 consoles without marginalizing power gamers. Nintendo and Microsoft will most likely respond to this strategy with differentiation rather than price competition. If Sony reinforces this strategy with coherent marketing and intellectual property strategies, it can increase Blu-ray adoption rates and make it more likely that the format will be adopted as a standard. The Market for Video Game Consoles is Growing, but Competition is Fierce The market for...
