Introduction
Worldview is how we see the world. It’s subjective because each person is different and has different ways of viewing things. Generations can view the world differently. Small things can change over time. For example, my daughter was reading her school supply list the other day. As she read aloud I heard “loose leaf notebook paper, notebooks, calculator, pens, hash tag 2 pencil… mom, what is a hash tag 2 pencil?” Of course I giggled out loud because this was an obvious generational thing. In my day we didn’t have social media like Twitter and Instagram. But, she has been predisposition to read a number sign as a hash tag. I explained it, but that is one example of how one generation’s view of one thing can change dramatically. Biblical worldview is how we see the world as Christians and how we relate everything back to our faith. Romans 1-8 is Paul’s letter to the church in Rome. Paul wanted to visit but was not able to so he wrote a letter. He needed to address the church because he was getting reports of its growth and it was his job to guide them in the way that they should grow. The topics Paul addressed were: the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. Paul’s letter was to give them instruction on how to deal with specific situations (Hindson & Towns, 2013, p. 415)

The Natural World In Romans chapter one, Paul reminded the Romans that God created the world. In the beginning God’s eternal power and divine nature were revealed to man (Romans 1:20). God never hid his identity or his sovereignty from man. However, man was prone to wickedness and instead of serving God and giving him glory he took God for granted. Man made God feel unappreciated, boring, and plain. What man didn’t realize is that God made what they knew about him plain so that they could understand him. It was the natural world and man didn’t appreciate it. Man had no excuse for not serving and thanking God. Paul wanted the Romans to know that God’s wrath was directed towards man for his wickedness. Man was suppressing the truth of God and the reason he created them. God wanted man to glorify him and thank him, but they went about things their own way.

Human Identity
Romans chapter one eludes to human identity. When man is separated from God, man is evil. Man does not have it in him to do right on his own. Man is arrogant and thinks he is wiser than God. Although God was known to man, in the beginning, he did not give God credit for anything. Romans 1:21 “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” God was heartbroken, but because man ignored God, he allowed man to keep sinning. He let man be as vile as he could become. Man’s human identity is to sin, apart from God. Man is human, not godly. Some of the ways man was sinning in Romans chapter one include murder, deceit, malice, gossiping, senselessness, ruthlessness, faithlessness, heartlessness, greed, and unnatural sexual relations. Man was removed from God and cannot do good on his own. I believe that God allowed man to do this so that man would know beyond a shadow of a doubt when he became saved. He would recognize the inner struggle that become apparent when faced with sin.
Human Relationships

In Romans, Paul’s letter addressed human relationships concerning unnatural sexual relationships, the relationships between the Jews and the Gentiles and the human relationship between Adam and mankind. Paul first discusses how man became idolaters instead of giving God glory. This hurt God and he no longer protected them from their sinful desires. “Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men…” (Romans 1:26-27). God is calling these relationships unnatural and Paul wanted the Roman church to know it was unnatural and to not approve of it or those who participated. Paul also addressed the Jew and Gentile relationships because in that time it was against Jewish law for Jews to associate with Gentiles (Acts 10:28). This posed a problem for a church who welcomed both. Paul’s message is clear that God does not show favoritism between Jews and Gentiles (Romans 2:11). Both would be accepted into God’s Kingdom. Last, our ancestor Adam was the one man who brought sin into the world. Sin brought death. However, Jesus died for us to bring life through him and to reconcile us back to God. God loved us enough to save us. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)”.

Culture
Roman and Jewish cultures were very different in Paul’s time. Jews believed in circumcision while Gentiles did not. Circumcision represented the covenant between Abraham and God. Abrahams’s entire lineage was to be circumcised (Genesis 17:10-12). Some Jews were grumbling that the Gentiles needed to be circumcised. Paul addressed this by stating that the Jews were under the law but the Gentiles were not. God was not just the God of the Jews he is also the God of the Gentiles (Romans 3:29). The Gentiles were saved through faith. “Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abrahams’s offspring – not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham”(Romans 4:16). Paul’s point was that it isn’t our culture or traditions that save us. It isn’t the works that we perform. It is our faith and belief in Jesus Christ, and our relationship with him that brings eternal life.

Conclusion In conclusion, Paul addressed four topics to the Romans. In the natural world that God created he was transparent to man. God wanted man to serve him and give him the glory, but man turned from him. Man brought wrath on himself through sin. In regards to human identity, without God, man becomes slaves to sin. Man need’s God to overcome sin. In human relationships, there are unnatural relationships regarding sexual immorality. Paul addressed this with the church. Man also has selfish views in relationships by not recognizing that God came to save the world, not just a select few. Man finds it hard to love others who are different but God does not show favoritism. Lastly, Paul addresses culture and how it can deter and blind us from the truth of the gospel which is that God came to save the world from sin. “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life” (Romans 5:10)!

...Biblical Worldview Essay The book of Romans is the sixth book of the Holy Bible. It was written by Paul, “a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart to the gospel of God” (Romans 1:1). Romans is a Pauline Epistle which means a letter from Paul. These letters were the first written information about Jesus; for these letters were written before God inspired the penning of the Gospel (Deffinbaugh, 2007). Paul started his ministry or preaching of the gospel message after his transformation in Jesus Christ; his conversion to Christianity on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). Paul’s focus throughout Romans is “the righteousness of God” (Romans 1:16-17). Focusing on chapters one through eight of Romans, it will take me through the elemental and “structural” illumination of the Christian faith. The chapters will reflect on the “plan of Him who works out….everything to His will” (Ephesians 1: 11). These are the Biblical instructions on the responding to human relationships, treatment of the universe and environment, and religious issues. Paul (1 Corinthians 2: 1) (2 Corinthians 10:10) like Moses (Exodus 4:10) was not an eloquent speaker, but they spoke volumes for the kingdom of God. By having a grasp, foundation, for my views I can state my convictions to others (1 Peter 3:15) with certainty and in love (Ephesians 4: 15). The Natural World Paul expounds on components and truths of the Biblical Worldview as it relates to the natural world. He is adamant in his...

...Bibl: 104 biblical worldview essay Ramona Collins 06/24/2015 Introduction: Chapter, 1-8 they are good resources in writing about a Christian worldview. Paul wrote a letter to the Romans, he talked about some important points of Christian life. Paul, talks about so many subjects about god's wrath toward mankind, which can serve as a warning that causes turning away from god, it's to obtain peace and tranquility and life through the blood of Jesus. Paul tells us of how god have plan to go above bringing his people from Israel, but to redeem all mankind. There patriarch Abraham, he shows that Abraham is not justified by his own actions, but by his faith. It was his faith, his heart, that resulted in justification that came before he was circumcised. Throughout this letter we see what type of man, and find a solution that is not to simply be a better person, and to submit to the will of god, and accept the blood of Jesus faith, reassuring that it is by faith that we are saved ( Romans 5:1). The natural world: A biblical worldview of the natural world or human origin its in the scripture several times, starting with in the beginning god created heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1). In Romans it talks about the natural world in a biblical worldview, in Romans 1:20 says, for his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived...

I believe God gives us certain gifts as believers to help others with their emotions, and help try to lift their burdens. Ephesians 5:15 “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,” I believe God is the creator has all the power and has the answer for all problems. Summary I Example I: My first example is depression. Depression is one of the leading causes that people see psychologist. The word depression is not found in The King James version of the Bible. The Bible does use words like downcast, sad, forlorn, discouraged, mourning, or brokenhearted just to name a few. It is said that Moses, Saul, Job, and Judas Iscariot suffered from depression during certain times in their life. I know some practices and offices have a problem with talking to others especially patients or clients about religion. I believe when it comes to a topic like depression how could I leave God out. I believe God gives hope in the midst of depression. John 14:16 KJV “And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide...

...Biblical Worldview Essay As I have learned in this course, and the last five months of rebirth and renewal in my Christian faith, we all are created in the image of God. He desires a personal relationship with every one of us, and He seeks each of us out to have that relationship. Yet many of us turn away from Him and his love for a multitude of reasons. Inspired by my own life experiences, my future career plans are to become a peer mentor, or crisis counselor helping other fellow veterans with their life challenges. That is if I ever go back to work, as my accident in September has left me unable to work, in which case I would then use my knowledge and life experiences to do the same but in a volunteer capacity. I feel that this is what I am destined to do, and on the day of my wreck, God gave me that message. By using a foundation based on my Christian worldviews, and personal experiences I feel that I can greatly help to inspire, motivate, and encourage my patients to not give up, to know that they are not alone in their struggles, and that everyone has a life plan, they just need guidance finding it. One example I could use without evangelizing to my patients is the power of renewal. A lot of veterans with PTSD usually do not have a strong Christian faith as I once didn’t, and sometimes totally discount God and religion, (as I had done). Renewal is the process of restoring spiritual strength coming from new birth. The experience of coming home from a combat zone after...

...BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY Student: Shawn M Jordan-Becerra Student ID: #L24511269 THEO 104-D12 LUO Introduction: “In God We Trust”, for now, is imprinted on every piece of U.S. currency today. The Government made it an importance to share the gospel of God even in this small phrase so Americans would follow the Biblical values set for us by understanding this trust even in something as small as a penny. When I finally chose to acquire my degree in finance I had already been working in the industry for over twenty years. And I fought the call of becoming a CPA for many years throughout my work experience. When I took God’s path I knew I wanted to attend a college that was faith based and would lay the ground work in expanding my Christian beliefs so I could apply it to my career. With this new found knowledge it will be important for me to use the Biblical principles in my everyday involvement of my work. “Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom and instruction and understanding” Prov. 23:23). My career goal is to be honest and faithful to His word and to imitate His image in the process. Example 1: Finance is a valued part of the Christian life. Whether it is tithing or making sure you are living within your means. God takes how you handle your money, or the money of a company, as serious as any other important issue in your daily living...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Samantha Tuz BIBL 104-B55 In the book of Romans we learn many things about the Christian life and how the world is viewed through the biblical worldview. We learn how we should view the natural world, human identity, human relationships, culture, and much more from this book. Romans 1-8 is full of so much information if we do not look deeper into it we will not understanding the full meaning and misunderstand what Paul was trying to teach us. Romans chapter 1:18-32 "Rome back in Paul's day, was full of every sin imaginable. We see Homosexuality, worship of the creation rather than the creator God." Just as our natural world today is full of sin of all kind as well. In our world now the same sins are being committed now that were being committed then but more so now due to things such as the internet which allows sin to happen easily and we are all connected. In Romans human identity is described from the very beginning. Humans are God's creation, "exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles" (Romans 1:22). Most of them are sinful as "they are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents" (Romans 1:30). They forgot the word of God or did not bother to trust him and follow his word, so they lived a life of sin not allowed by God. The only help humanity can get is Faith because God can help...

...Biblical Worldview Essay The apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans addresses many topics including the natural world, our human identity, human relationships, as well as cultural references. Paul understood the need to clarify our purpose on this earth and the realities of sin as well as the grace afforded to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul’s letter addresses a question that has been on the hearts of almost everyone at some point in time, why do people suffer? His words reflect the benefit of having a relationship with Jesus the Christ when living under the curse of sin from a fallen humanity. “Suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope (Romans 5:3-4).” In the natural world we face the realities of sin on a daily basis and the consequences of that sin, whether it is our own sin or the sin of another. Paul reinforces the fact it only took one sin or trespass to condemn all of mankind. However, to the glory of God, it only took one act of righteousness through Christ Jesus to bring life to all men (5:18). Because God knew that man would need a litmus test or a guide to measure right from wrong, He gave us the Law. Our natural tendencies consist of obeying the flesh and our sinful desires, but the grace of God is sufficient to cover all of our sin. We can’t escape the fact that death on this earth is certain, apart from the catching away of the saints at the sounding of the trumpet call. This natural death, due to the fall of mankind...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Introduction: The “Image of God.” What is the image of God in a Christian? The “image of God” is vastly used to describe what the Christian faith should portray. We can find this term in the Bible a few times. In the Old Testament, Genesis 1:26-27 to be exact we find that it states that “man is created to the image of God”. I believe that “the belief that mankind is created in the image of God” really is trying to allow us to see that our reflection should be that of those characteristics that God portrays such as compassion, love, understanding, patience, respect and so on. As I am currently studying to work in Business Administration focused in the Healthcare Management, I believe that I need to be able to portray patience and respect. Example 1: Respect for others is a great way to be able to put the image of God into practice with my chosen vocation. We can clearly see that in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and over you in the lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.”) what God is trying to teach us about respect towards others. We cannot just sit there and disrespect others due to their imperfections, for every single one of us has imperfections but yet have great respected qualities that differ from one person to another. In the healthcare management field one must be able to respect...

...Biblical Worldview Essay THEO 104 June 17, 2013 Liberty University Introduction From the very beginning of time, we were all created in the image of God (Genesis 1: 26-28). Our very essence is love because God is love (1 John 4:8). Psychology is a nurturing and life changing career field which provides many opportunities to live a professional life that not only honors God, but shows believers and unbelievers God’s enduring love. Psychologists are organized professionals focused on healing human suffering. Being created in the image of the Lord, who is the Great Physician, gives us a supernatural ability to usher in healing in the name of Jesus. As a Christian psychologist, I will have the unique privilege of touching lives on a deep and personal level. Integrity and dependability are two characteristics that will enable me to serve others through my calling and glorify the Lord Almighty, who made me in His loving image. Integrity Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. To be morally upright describes our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He committed no sin and no deceit was found in his mouth (1 Peter 2:22). I was made in the image of my sinless savior that spoke truth and kept His word. ...Biblical Worldview and Criminal Justice When I initially read the topic of this essay, I wasn’t too sure what I was going to write about. I had never really taken the time to think about how my major and Christianity connected with each other. As I’m sitting here thinking of it now, Christianity and criminal justice connect perfectly. The bible and criminal justice system go hand in hand. There are many different aspects of the criminal justice system that stem straight from the bible itself. One example of how Christianity and criminal justice is connected is by law and consequence. Both Christianity and the judicial system have laws that a person has to abide by. If those rules are broken, consequences will follow. As a criminal justice major, my ultimate goal after I complete my degree is to become a police officer. Working as a police officer, I will encounter many situations where individuals will break or test the law. It is going to be my duty to make sure that people are abiding by these laws in order to help keep the public safe. With that being said, in order to enforce these laws, individuals that break them will have to receive consequences. These consequences will come in the form of citations, court dates, jail time, and so on. Being a police officer, it will be my job to ensure the safety of the public. I won’t necessarily like having to issue these various consequences to people, but it is vital to the success and purpose of the laws that are put...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Christians believe that mankind is created in the image of God. This belief affects the way Christians interact with people they chose to be with in their vocation. In this essay I will attempt to write about exactly how mankind being created in the image of God affects me in my daily life. I will also attempt to use examples of being a Christian and the choices I make because of this belief that mankind is created in the image of God. I work in a supply and demand field. Every day I use my company credit card to purchase products and parts for our company. I also make sure the contracts we purchase are done right and no one is being cheated out of their money. I would have to say that this is one example of how this belief that mankind is created in the image of God affects me. I do not believe in cheated people out of their money and I am a very honest person. Since I do work for the military buying products I constantly get phone calls from vendors wanting me to purchase their products. Sometimes I have to turn my phone off because there are people out there just trying to make a quick sell and the product is not good. The Bible states “Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.  "It is written," he said to them," 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.' " (Matthew 21: 12-13)...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Introduction/Thesis The Bible brings us everything we need to know and live by for our entire lives. The Bible brings us not just questions but answers as well. One section though brings us answers to foundational truths and relevant answers to inadmissible questions. Throughout this essay I will be going over how Romans 1-8 address’s all of those answers including the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. The Natural World Even threw the fall we see God’s work on this world through nature. Everything was perfect at first until the fall. Afterwards we see that everything has a consequence. The consequence that we humans face is sin. Not only did nature start to lose its color but humans started to fall deeper and deeper into sin. We are now no longer born without sin but born into a sin nature. For we as humans need to have faith in God and believe in him or when God comes back, things won’t be pretty. We see God portrayed as a powerful worrier in the beginning of Romans when Paul talks about God and the sinful people. We see Paul talk about how God will not take it easy on those who do not believe in him, and those who our wicked by nature. When God comes back he will show his wrath to the unholy and the non-believers. One may wonder why God is so harsh on the non-believers. God is displeased at the fact that people look at him in the way of a lie and that they want to find a reason/way to live that fits their lifestyle...

...Cheryl Bissey Biblical Worldview Essay Theo 104B Introduction: “Foundational to the Christian faith is the belief that mankind is created in the image of God.” How can I possibly live up to this belief in my chosen vocation? My chosen vocation is to be a teacher of young children. My passion in life is to teach young children, to not only provide them an education but to teach them about God and who He is. I remember quite a few years ago I taught 4- and 5-year-olds in Sunday School. It was an experience I hold very dear to my heart. Young children are like little sponges; they are innocent believers. They do not necessarily believe there is a God but they will believe just about anything you tell them. Therefore, we as educators have a huge responsibility to make sure that young children are taught authentically and honestly. If we are serious about raising disciples of Christ, then we need to model God’s truths as educators and teachers. Example 1: The greatest pleasure I have in life is being a nanny and providing care for young children. As part of providing their care, I can also teach them. I usually care for very young children, most of which are under a year old when I first start caring for them. It was 8 years ago I changed careers and started caring for young children. It was then that I gained first hand knowledge of what it felt like to be “godlike”. For the first time in my life I felt whole and who God intended me to be. I was able to follow my passion...

...THEO 201-B39 Biblical Worldview Essay As we look back on history we can see that human beings have made great strides as well as suffered many setbacks in our development of fundamental doctrines and/or beliefs by which we live and view the world. These foundational beliefs have provided the framework for which all civilizations preserve, cooperate, and govern their way of life. Certainly throughout history, the spread of Christian theology and doctrine has been influential in establishing and developing a deeply rooted theistic and biblical worldview foundation; thus being the center of much debate. In light of the various views within Christian theology, we will focus specifically on doctrine that is foundational to the Christian faith: The belief the God is actively involved in His creation. Furthermore, we will examine how this belief (doctrine) affects the way we interact with people in a chosen vocation. Through Bible Scriptures and Daniel Akin’s textbook A Theology for the Church, we will show evidence to support this doctrine, identify meaningful connections between Scripture and our call to work (vocation), and apply this evidence to specific scenarios within Christian ministry. In traditional Christian theology the belief that God is actively involved in His creation is known as providence. According to the textbook, “the doctrine of God’s providence is related to the doctrine of creation…Millard Erickson compares creation and providence by calling creation “God’s...

...INTRODUCTION: As a child growing up going to church on holidays I wasn’t really presented with the knowledge that we were created in the image of God. When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 15 I started to learn more about what the Word of God said about this subject. It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s that I took the time to get active in study groups and spend time in the Bible that I really understood and believed that we were all created in the image of God. Genesis 1:26-27 is the first time the phrase is used and it is only referenced 3 times in the Hebrew Bible yet the New Testament is foundational in the fact that Jesus is the image of God. The image of God is a reflection of the qualities that Jesus explemplified while he here on earth to his disciples and others; abundant in love, full of patience, kind to others, merciful to sinners, a humble servant, and forgiving even to his killers. I believe that we are all created in His image and that we are to all strive to explemfy these same traits as He lives in us. EXAMPLE 1: Working in international transportation I deal with many different cultures that look upon Americans as imperialist and arrogant. This is something that I strive daily to overcome not just with external customers but also with internal customers from various departments that have moved to Chicago from all over the world. Although the trait of humility was never my strong suit growing up I have learned to humble myself and allow...
