This biology project has been a learning experience for both of us as a pair and as individuals. It has allowed us to have complete insight on the basics of parenting and its importance. This project was nothing like what we expected; it actually required much more interaction and attention. It made us aware of our responsibility level and gave us the opportunity to imagine how taking care of child would be. We were able to learn that children are much more difficult to maintain than we imagined, they are very delicate beings who need much attention and care at all times. We now realize that babies are very much different from us, they cannot be left un-attended at any time because they are unable to support and keep themselves safe as we can. But also that the actions of others surround you can affect how you raise and take care of the children , and at the end of the day is something goes wrong you can’t put the blame on anyone but yourself for not being attentive enough. There was also a struggle between us as the “parents” of the eggs when it came to making decisions as a couple. The first conflict came when it was time to name the children; we both had different opinions on what to name the child therefore this created an argument between us. But nonetheless we still had to come to a common agreement and find suitable name for our children that we both agreed on. Then came the task of finding a place for the children to sleep and the way they would be labelled and again we had a disagreement. This brought to our attention that when a couple has a child they both will have different views as to what they feel is appropriate for the child , but that doesn’t mean that one person view with be the ultimate decision. The task if scheduling who would look after the children and have them at particular times was the most difficult. We had to comprise and manage our time carefully to accommodate our new responsibility. We both had school as well as extracurricular activities to attend to , but nonetheless we had to find a way to manoeuvre the child. This project also taught us to appreciate and love our future children because when our eggs broke there was a feeling or sorrow because we knew there would be a consequence which is similar to real when it comes to raising a child. Although this project was difficult we were able to comprise in order to accommodate each other needs and make it to the end of the entire project. We both tend to have children in the future this project did not discourage us of this, but only enhanced to be aware of what we can in some sense expect when we have our very own children.
