T: Both awesome?! If you had to read one again, which one would you pick?
S: I can’t pick!
T; Would you read both of them again?
S; Let me check …. yes, for one dollar.
T: A dollar? Why would you need a dollar?
S: Cookie, to buy at lunch

I utilized Jericho’s enthusiasm of this series to push him into higher types of thinking (‘Analysis’ from Bloom’s Taxonomy) –
Specifically, by asking him to compare the two books we had just read. However, when this conversation was not successful and got off topic, I quickly changed the conversation to stay on topic. T: So, what was Biscuit Loves the Library about?
S: Books!

S: [Gets book to flip through pictures] First, they were going to the library. They open the door and go inside, then they’re going to pick out a …show more content…
Jericho greatly enjoys reading and engaging with texts, but he rarely initiates a thoughtful reflection, and instead wants to move onto the next book. The transcript part of our conversation helps show how we’ve been able to push Jericho to think more deeply about books, and I’ve been occasionally surprised with his ability to think about books. For example, although he didn’t give an answer, Jericho was thinking about information across books. He also worked towards synthesizing information into a single idea. Further, he used pictures to not just to construct meaning, but to make inferences about books. I’ve come to believe that Jericho views books as very shallow (i.e. something with a story), instead of something we can engage with on a variety of levels. By repeatedly prompting Jericho towards higher levels of thinking, I’m hoping Jericho will slowly adapt this process on his

Ship-Buliding Prospect

...course. Definition: What does it mean to be "Six Sigma"? Six Sigma at many organizations simply means a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. But the statistical implications of a Six Sigma program go well beyond the qualitative eradication of customer-perceptible defects. It's a methodology that is well rooted in mathematics and statistics. The objective of Six Sigma Quality is to reduce process output variation so that on a long term basis, which is the customer's aggregate experience with our process over time, this will result in no more than 3.4 defect Parts per Million opportunities (DPMO). What Is Six Sigma ? Six Sigma is a meticulous methodology that make use of information management by facts and statistical analysis to define, measure and improve a company's operational performance, practices and systems. It identifies and prevents "defects" in manufacturing and service-related processes to anticipate, and achieve or exceed total customer satisfaction. What is the Six Sigma Objective? The primary objective of the Six Sigma methodology is the implementation of a measurement based strategy, which focuses on process and sub-processes improvement through the application of Six Sigma best practice such as DMAIC and DMADV. A Pragmatic Analysis of English Humor in Jokes

...A Pragmatic Analysis of English Humor in jokes Abstract Looking back at the history, humorous language and behaviour had been treated as frivolous, ludicrous, and even evil. Cathy’s father, although a good man, did not fulfill Cathy’s need for attention and love as Cathy states in his book, “My Sunday school teacher recognized somehow that I had a father who never told me he loved me…. I think he sensed my isolation because he reached out to me and became a model of the loving and caring father…. Through his teaching, Mr. Abbey gave me a better understanding of the Bible, but more important, he displayed to me a loving and caring spirit. He visited Techwood Homes (a public housing facility where the Cathy’s lived for a time) often to see me and others in our Sunday school class. He also invited us occasionally to go with him and (his son) Ted to his cabin on Lake Jackson.” Cathy would later say, “In time I came to understand that I could choose the type of model I would follow in life and I chose the example of Theo Abbey”...
