Desired Goals
Jitter;s Café began with the goal of being a profitable business that provides a quality experience for customers. To reach this goal, the management team has increased advertising as well as the number of employees. Management has gradually learned to use these methods to produce desired results. These methods will not save a business overnight, but with continued effort, a business can increase net income and customer satisfaction with increased advertising and employee count. During the beginning stages of this establishment, management sought to spend funds that were below the budgeted amount. Because of this advertising and hiring suffered. Workers were overstressed and brand recognition was not very high. As we hired more employees, the employee stress level was lowered. By hiring new employees, the work load could be divided amongst more workers, thus lighting the load for the existing one. We also believe that the additional employees helped customer satisfaction rise. With more employees in the café, the customer’s needs could be met more efficiently.
The company needed to increase the number of managers more so than the number of waiters. The managers were initially feeling overstress, and this is a negative trait in any organization. To alleviate the stress of the company’s managers we hired more manager, thereby investing more cash in our labor force. Each manager was paid an appropriate salary and the stress level of our managers began to fall. This was a key event during the life of this establishment. By addressing the needs of our managers, we potentially lowered the turnover rate and maintained stability within the company. Employee satisfaction was very important to us during this business project.
