...In the primary document, “Black Elk Recalls Wounded Knee” Black Elk speaks his testimony he witnessed in the late 1890s. Black Elk arrived in Pine Ridge and saw some soldiers heading down to where the Big Foots were located. He immediately knew something bad was bound to happen very soon. The next morning, Black Elk went and gathered his horses, put on his special shirt that reflected his vision, painted his face, put one eagle feather in his hair, and set off towards where the shots were coming from. They arrived at the top of the ridge and could see cavalrymen all scattered out over the hills that laid before them. The women and children were running for safety and dropping as they flee. Black Elk whipped his horse and charged, he had nothing but his sacred bow witch he held out in front of him. He did not feel sorry for their deaths. As He witnessed all the dead bodies, he wished he was dead too, but before he goes, he yearns for revenge. Black Elk ended his experience thinking that there might be a day they could have their revenge....

...Written in a time when many were unware of the turmoil, Black Elk Speaks, introduces us to an amazing gentleman named Black Elk. Transported into a time when Native Americans were hunted, tracked, and murdered in the pursuit of land, gold and pure human greed. The Lakota Indians were a peaceful tribe that wanted to live among their people and culture in their own country and be content. At the beginning of the book, we are introduced to Black Elk as a young boy. At this time Black Elk falls very ill and has a great vision. This vision plays a huge part in Black Elks life and in the Lakota culture. We learn through Black Elk that he continues to have visions and he is blessed him with many gifts and that he was able to use to help himself and people. Black Elk was around 5 years old when he had his first vision and heard the voices, but it was not until the age of 9 that he really began to understand the visions....

...History 1846- Present Document Analysis According to Black Elk, what atrocities took place at Wounded Knee? Black Elk as described it as just that a massacre that just destroyed a town/civilization, with no remorse whatsoever towards the people. Black Elk went into more detail about the whole fight and how it happened as to the others schemed over it. It was like a planned attack of these people and it wasn’t safe for any human being at that time. Kids, adult’s men and women, and babies that some were still attached to their mothers while dying. Overall just an unbelievable sight to see and vision as lives were taking and just left there like trash as a storm comes through and covers the bodies. As Black Elk stated at least they were in a better place for as the older children and adults but the babies were more innocent than anyone else. How did President Harrison describe these atrocities? The President described this as a way for the Sioux tribe to maybe test the waters on the laws that were being handed down to them by the government and engage with these issues. He also describes them as a turbulent group almost warlike in actions so they were excited to see what would go on. Harrison says because of their hostile ways, that this massacre could have be determined as to the result of them being so violent. Whom did Black Elk blame/ whom did Harrison blame? Like I stated in the previous question, Black Elk put more of the blame on how unsystematic way governed bodies...

...In the speech, "Black Hawk's Surrender Speech, 1832" Black Hawk gives his farewell and goals. He persuaded the change he wanted to do through many rhetorical devices, using allusion, comparison and many more. Furthermore, Black Hawk says, "The bullets flew like birds in the air, and whizzed by our ears like the wind through the trees in the winter", giving us an imagination of how it felt to fight in a battle against the whites. Black Hawk tried to persuade the tragic stories in which the indians had to endure to fight in what they believed was right. In throughout the speech, you've come to realize how much he has embodied to be the chief, to be the one that stands up for oneself, without caring to be the one accountable of their movement....

...The Wasichu Effect As the moon moved through its cycles and the spring grasses inevitable came and went, a Westward Expansion movement was cultivated that shifted and changed the cultural integrity and foundational wellbeing of the Lakota people forever. Black Elk, a warrior and medicine man of the Lakota, eloquently put forth a personal account of the countless hardships his people and many others had faced at the hands of the Wasichu people and the effects of their ravages. Along with valuable insight gained from the personal and spiritual encounters of Black Elk, we receive a brief look at the everyday lives and trials of the tribe to gain a better grasp on the culture. As we move to develop a more genuine historical empathy, one must further study the season of transition from a nomadic style of living to reservation life, which was undoubtedly forced upon the Lakota people....

Kata-kata kunci: Filsafat ekologi, eco-cosmology, ruang terbuka hijau (RTH), , green openspace, arsitektur modern, kualitas hidup, mahluk spasial, existensial space, eco-mind, ecological-person. “The quality of life is nurtured by existensial spaces, as well as social and sacred spaces”.

...Must one argue that America was built on the values of freedom? If this is true, which history has already proven it is, then why are we stripping the rights of our youth by requiring them to participate in mandatory volunteering? Before one can even begin to answer this they must also ask what is volunteering? In short it is offering to do something “freely”. Schools should not force our students to participate in volunteering, because they are inevitably causing the youth to be rebellious and devaluing the appreciation for true volunteering. While volunteering may be a seemingly good thing, mandatory volunteering causes young adolescents to rebel against community service and volunteer work. According to the Cognitive Evaluation Theory study, people tend to resist and lose interest in what is being asked of them when they feel they are being controlled by an outside source because of the human nature of individualism(Pearce 1).This is already seen in other school situations, such as with homework. Many children will often refuse to do rudimentary or simple homework assignments. Throughout history, volunteering has evolved into a cultural connection; a common characteristic of humans on a local, national, and global level is the desire to help one another. Although this statement is not necessarily true for every individual, most people feel an urgency to assist friends, family members, coworkers, and/or strangers in need or in crisis. Why should we volunteer? Many people...

...Supernatural: The Life of William Branham Book 6: The Prophet and His Revelation 1960 – 1965 by Owen Jorgensen 1 Acknowledgments: In a project of this magnitude, it is understandable that I should owe many people a debt of gratitude for their help. First of all I want to thank Pearry Green for his vision, his encouragement and his efforts in publishing and distributing these books. I also want to thank Saundra Miles, David Buckley, Jay Weber, and the other people who spent many hours editing and proof reading the six manuscripts in this series. Their suggestions helped to make this a better book and a more accurate account of William Branham‘s life. Also, I want to thank Steven and Kathy Strooh, who put these books into audio format for all those people who would rather listen than read. I must certainly thank those people who have translated these books into their native languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Norwegian, Hindi, and many other languages. Supernatural: the Life of William Branham took me 17 years to complete. I was 34 when I started and 51 when I finished. To put that into perspective, my four children were in grade school when I began writing this biography. By the time I finished, three of my children were married and I had nine grandchildren. During the 17 years I worked on this project, my life had its ups and downs. I want to thank everyone who prayed for me during those 17 years. Finally I want to thank my four children—Benaiah...

However, both in academia and in popular media the critique on multiculturalism has grown and is often accompanied with arguments related to gender equality and/or feminism. According to political scientist Susan Moller Okin for example there are fundamental conflicts between our commitment to gender equality and the desire to respect the customs of minority cultures or religions. If we agree that women...
