Artikel 2 Berlingske varsler nye besparelser:
Truslen fra nye indtrængere er stor fordi b.la. Berlingske er i krise pga. Besparelser.

Bold Flash

...BoldFlash: Cross-Functional Challenges Case Study Introduction BoldFlash is a producer of flash memory components for electronic devices, who has fallen behind competitors on several fronts due to missed opportunities with developing a critical market in storage devices for tablets. With a recent change in leadership due to the unexpected death of prior Vice President/ General Manager (Jim Harrison), the company is now under the watchful eye of Dr. Roger Cahill (also known as King of the Hill). In an industry with rapidly growing revenues and demand, in a sector that was highly competitive, BoldFlash still has the significant competitive advantage of operating its own plants. After a few months on the job, Cahill was able to deduct what he saw as the problem in the Mobile Division as unproductive conflicts between the functional departments, particularly around the product development processes. It is clear that manufacturing is the dominant function of the organization and with its competitive nature, seems to be pulling its weight. Due to the unclear roles of departments, isolation of departments, as well as the conflicting roles of departments, manufacturing is suffering. Conflicting Performance Metrics In many ways conflicting performance metrics of each group are contributing to the problem. Currently the performance metrics of each department are left either unclear or overlapping between groups. The conflicting performance metrics are causing opportunities to be...

The Great Outdoors

...confusingly all used the title Duke of Bavaria. Isabeau's uncle, Duke Frederick of Bavaria-Landshut, suggested in 1383 that she be considered as a bride to King Charles VI of France. The match was proposed again at the lavish Burgundian double wedding in Cambrai in April 1385—John the Fearless and his sister Margaret of Burgundy married Margaret and William of Bavaria-Straubing respectively. Charles, then 17, rode in the tourneys at the wedding. He was an attractive, physically fit young man, who enjoyed jousting and hunting and was excited to be married.[3] Miniature showing King Charles VI at the hunt. Queen Isabeau and her retinue are shown riding palfreys. From Enguerrand de Monstrelet's Chronique. Charles VI's uncle, Philip the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, thought the proposed marriage ideal to build an alliance with the Holy Roman Empire and against the English.[4] Isabeau's father agreed reluctantly and sent her to France with his brother, her uncle, on the pretext of taking a pilgrimage to Amiens.[2] He was adamant that she was not to know she was being sent to France to be examined as a prospective bride for Charles,[4] and refused permission for her to be examined in the nude, customary at the time.[1] According to the contemporary chronicler Jean Froissart, Isabeau was 13 or 14 when the match was proposed and about...

Bold Action

...Question: What is the boldest and daring thing you have ever done in your life? I am going to state the most daring and boldest action which I had taken in my whole life. That action of mine is almost 1 year and few months old when I was in the first semester of MBA. I had worked for four months for an online company named as Xtraorbit360 whose work was to advertise the websites of different companies by posting their advertisement on free classified websites. I worked as a member for that company after purchasing a membership package for four months for Rupees 10,000 and during that period I earned a total of 45,000 just by working 2 hours daily. I had found that work to be really profitable so I decided to buy a franchise of that online company. For buying franchise I had to pay a total of Rupees 1, 00,000 to the owner of the company. I talked with my family members about this decision but they all warned me not to invest in that company as it was not a registered company and was having no physical existence. I was also having a little fear of losing my money but I was willing to take the risk so I stood at my words. The only one who was with me for that decision was my father and he gave me permission to invest. I was so much happy after getting the permission as I was the only one in my family who had got the opportunity to earn some money so I had bought the franchise. The franchise remains under my ownership for three months and I use to handle all the matters and members...

The system can achieve its goals more effectively and perform better when organizational goals are well aligned with the goals of different subunits. Taking a Bold Stand

...Taking a bold stand against issues takes a great amount of courage. Taking a bold stand can affect the people around you. It can help people in ways that can’t even be seen. A time in my life where I have stood up for something might have been a small something, but it is a big issue even today. I stood up for bullying. I stood up for a fellow student who didn’t have the courage to speak out for themselves. I stood up for anyone who didn’t have the same amount of courage as I did. I stood up for what any human bean should. I stood up for someone’s life, happiness, and freedom to be who they are. When someone bullies another it can take a person’s happiness away. It can take someone’s reason for living away. It can take someone’s life away. And I couldn’t let that happen. If no other person could speak up I would. If no one could stop it I would. So I did. I made it known that it was wrong and needed to be stop. I took a bold stand. When it was all said and done it didn’t stop immediately it took time and more people to get involved. The victims eventually got courage to stand up for their own sleeves. They will no longer be brought down by the influence of others. They will always remember the day they gain that courage, courage to be who they are and not be judged and tormented because of it. That is the outcome of my bold...

The Bold but Unsuccessful Beloved

...The Bold but Unsuccessful Beloved Toni Morrison's fifth novel, Beloved, a vividly unconventional family saga, is set in Ohio in the mid 1880s. By that time slavery had been shattered by the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation and the succeeding constitutional amendments, though daily reality for the freed slaves continued to be a matter of perpetual struggle, not only with segregation and its attendant insults, but the curse of memory. Morrison's heroine, Sethe, is literally haunted - by the baby daughter she killed in a gesture of terrible mercy, when threatened with recapture after her escape. Though robbed of friends by the poltergeist, she is living in the survivor's state of stunned calm until one of her fellow slaves from Kentucky turns up on her doorstep after eighteen years. Paul D Garner, with his special quality of empathy, is "the kind of a man who could walk into a house and make the women cry." In the first few hours of his visit he rids Sethe's house of the poltergeist, makes love to Sethe, and hugely antagonises her teenage daughter, Denver, not only by his interest in her mother, but because the poltergeist was her one companion. The ghost, however, loses little time in effecting a more solid manifestation, as a young woman runaway whom Sethe shelters, and by whom she comes to be dominated. She gives up her job to be with Beloved and while the girl ghost thrives, she and Denver are reduced to near starvation. It is only when...

Being Courageous and Bold

...Being fearful and timid can potentially limit progress, dreams and success. Growing up, life seemed so easy because I got virtually all I wanted under my parents roof. I was not exposed to the outside world, always indoors, had a maid and a chef. There came a time when I had to leave my comfort zone in pursuit of a higher education at the University of Lagos, Nigeria and I lived on campus. My dad left me with these words, “my daughter, I wish you the very best but you have to know only the strong, courageous and smart ones survive out there.” Little did I know how powerful those words were until I got my very first job as a Customer Service Representative at a bank in Nigeria. Taking care of myself and my bills made me realize what responsibility is all about. I was naive, had low self esteem and lacked self-confidence which, of course, made my job so difficult and nerve wrecking to perform and almost led to my employment being terminated. There were two colleagues I admired so much, Dami and Jane. They were on top of their game, very smart and high achievers. Nothing ever seemed challenging to them. They handled every project with ease and our bosses always applauded them. They became my motivation in addition to recollecting my dad’s words of wisdom. I had no option than to be proactive and also looked forward to being applauded if not for anything, for future references in other organisations or promotions within the company. It was time for me to wake up from my slumber...
