The Books versus the Movies

It is fair to say that both books and movies are both equally entertaining, however most often the difference found between the two is very profound. Books cover a much greater level of detail and background information. Books can easily cover everything from a character’s deep personal history to the precise and detailed descriptions of the setting or the surroundings. Aside from the exceptional attention to detail, books offer a close connection to the intended audience. The attention to detail can result in a much more believable story, therefore allowing the audience to make real life connections with the characters within the book. Most importantly, books allow for an abundance of creativity. When reading a book, you are the director. You create a story in your head, different from all others, according to your vision as well as understanding. On the other hand, movies can be just as entertaining as books. Although the level of detail is not to the degree found in books, it is replaced by the stunning visuals seen and sounds heard and at a cinema or home theatre. Characters are excellently represented by actors, trained in everything from facial movements to body language. Movies, like books, can also have a strong impact on their audience, through tears of sadness or excitement at the triumph of a hero or heroine. In a movie, you picture the story through someone else’s perspective. Offering a new and exciting turn on your own point of view, which can generally, be very enjoyable. Books and movies both have positive qualities; the decision is left up to the individual. They both offer fantastic levels of enjoyment and entertainment, simply from two very different points of
