LEGALFORM & SHAREHOLDERS: I am going to tell you something about the legal form of the company and its shareholders.
The Robert Bosch Foundation, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, is the biggest foundation in Germany and is operating under the legal form of a limited liability, called a GmbH. There are exactly three shareholders.
First the Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, with an 0,01% participation and a 93% voting power
Second the Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH with an 92% participation but without voting power and
Third the Family Bosch, with 8% Participation and a 7% voting power which is one of the fifth richest families in Germany with an estimated capital of 6 billion €.

To make a long story short, there is no possibility for a private person to participate in BOSCH because BOSCH is not on the stock exchange.
INNOVATIONS: BOSCH has 1300 highly developed employees who are globally working on technological breakdown with the general goal to increase human quality of life.
Just in 2011 BOSCH registered 4100 new patents, invested 4,1 Billion € in research and development. In Germany, no one registers more patents than BOSCH, and also globally BOSCH is in a leading position.
PERSONNEL: BOSCH employs more than 300 000 associates who generated sales of 51,4 billion € in 2011
And, as a result of demographic changes, the average age of these 300 000 employees will rise from 42 today up to 49 by 2030, that means that the proportion of associates over 50 years will change from 23% today to 50% in 2030
Independent of that fact, 4 from 5 employees are pretty proud of being employed by BOSCH and 2 from 3 are satisfied with the provided possibilities to connect the job with family and the private life in general.
Well, these are as good news as the fact that BOSCH convinces 80% of its workforce that the company plays a significant important role in environment protection and society progress.
Moreover, BOSCH invests around 200 Million € per year in continuing education for its employees,
And, last but not least, what could be interesting for you: BOSCH hired 3700 university graduates worldwide in 2011, for example 500 in Germany, 1000 in India and more 1000 in China
LEADERSHIP: Let us talk about the BOSCH Leadership. Aim for success, trust your associates, shape the future together… sounds pretty good!
But reality differs hard from theory and shows that it does not work like theory wants it to work.
There are view high ranking managers in and outside the company who run the BOSCH leadership down because it is still a kind of centralism way of leading. Personal responsibility is not really allowed by BOSCH, even for the executive staff. And BOSCH does leading still in a bossy way, and not in a coaching way.
