In the article, “Boston Bombing Suspect’s Body in Limbo” published on May 6, 2013, authors Laura Petrecca and Michael Winter addressed that Boston’s bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was rejected by several funeral homes, therefore the government does not know what to do with the body. The authors also explain how dishonourable killers are usually buried in unmarked graves or cremated, however, since the suspect was Muslim, cremation was not an option. This article seems to be intended to those who wanted to know more about Tsarnaev at the time, since this article was taken from “USAToday” the intended audience can also be those who have an interest in news. With an appealing title and hook sentence, this makes it great to be put on a news website; in addition, the authors provide us with facts and quotes which also provides the article with credibility. Moreover, the arguments in this article are convincing due to the fact that the authors use statements that are accurate, for example “Cremation is not an option for a Muslim” (Petrecca & Winter, 2013, p. 164). Another reason the article is convincing is that the authors use quotes from government officials and professors. The article also provides supporting details for the arguments, for example after the authors explain how killers are usually buried in unmarked graves, they list examples of known killers that were buried in such way, therefore justifying their statement. Another great example is when Peter Stefan was having a hard time finding a cemetery for the Tsarnaev’s body, and the governments said “no” to help him. Afterwards, the authors provide a quote on the reason why the government said “no”; supporting details are important because leaving it at just “no” will not satisfy the reader nor make this article
