The boston tea party was a the most important rights movement in america and the reason for that is because it gave us freedom and independence . This is important for us today because without freedom and independence we would be another part of Britain and that would change our entire lifestyle. The boston tea party was when the sons of liberty decided to stand up to the british on the idea of “no taxation without representation” and they disguised themselves and they raided three boats and broke and dumped tea chests in the ocean to protest the tea act.

The boston tea party happened on December, 16 1773. they met at the Old South Meeting House for almost three weeks trying to find a way to stop the tea act. Their final plan was to board three boats on Boston Harbor, those ships were named Beaver, Dartmouth, and Eleanor. They disguised themselves as mohawk indians because if they were caught they would face severe punishments. Along with …show more content…
For example, Benjamin Franklin states that “It is impossible to justify with people so prejudice in favor of the power of parliament.”George Washington also disliked the boston tea party he says that the party was”useless destructivity” luckily George W. and Benjamin F. werent loyalist, loyalists were people who favored Britain and if there were lots of loyalists we would have most likely lost the revolutionary war.

The boston tea party wasn't named so until the 1800’s, and it wasn't the only tea party, three months later yet another minor tea party was held. After the party the boston tea party the Boston Harbor was shut down.
