...Humans have always found dolphins to be enchanting creatures. Ever since the days of the first seafarers, they have been the subject of numerous works of art, literature, and myth. They are among the most intelligent of animals, as some species have brain to body mass ratios equal to that of a human being. They are also mammals, having evolved from land-faring creatures tens of millions of years ago. They are known for their extremely gregarious behavior. Dolphins belong in the kingdom Anamalia; phylum, corata; class mammalia; order, cetacean; sub-order, odonteceti; family, delphinidea; genus, delphinus; and species, delphis. Dolphins are very social creatures and use interaction for the purpose of hunting, defense, and reproduction. Dolphins are normally found in groups of families for 2-40 members called pods. Larger groups in the hundreds have been reported and are referred to as herds. They are carnivorous, predatory mammals and feed on fish, squid, octopus, cuttlefish, crabs, shrimp, and lobsters. They are regularly hunted by sharks, killer whales and in some places, humans. Humans are the most dangerous predator of the dolphin and have decimated their existence. We as humans have been known to kill dolphins for their meat, their fat, even for being pests to fishermen. Dolphins, like all mammals bear live young and usually only give birth to one calf at a time, rarely giving birth to twins. The mothers usually nurse and care for their calf for one to three years after...

The are many unique species that inhabit the Everglades. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and plants all make up the diverse ecosystem that the Everglades is known for. Many of the organisms located in the Everglades are indigenous to the area, while some have migrated from other regions. The Everglades are the only area where alligators and crocodiles co-exist. Many other freshwater and saltwater animals are found in the Everglades. Some examples of the animal life are the raccoon, white-tailed deer, river otter, and the Atlantic bottle nose dolphin. Plant life in the Everglades is as diverse as the animal life owing to the concentrations of fertile soil and extreme moisture. The movement of the water provides a benefit to the animal and plant life while by pushing nutrients and waste through the land. The plants and soil act as a filter that cleanses the water before depositing it back into the ocean. 2. Discuss the impact that humans have on the system. In the early 1900's, settlers started to drain much of the land to make room for farms and...

... Each year the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District releases a comprehensive report evaluating monitoring of data within the ecosystem of the Everglades. This information is available online at http://www.bit.ly/SSR 2014. According to research, “the Everglades contain a vast array of plants and animals that have adapted to the wet subtropical environment.” A few examples include birds such as the whooping crane, great blue, white, and tricolored herons, wood stork, and the cape-sable seaside sparrow. Land mammals such as the raccoon, skunk, opossum, bobcat and the white-tail deer are also a part of this environment; other animals include the American gator, the west-Indian Manatee, and the bottle nose dolphin. There are a number of species on the federal threatened or endangered lists, many more are rare, species of special concern, or included on state lists. ...Country Detail Zanzibar Travel Guide Zanzibar is an Island characterised by its stunning beaches, beautiful coral reefs and the magic of the historic Stone Town. With its ocean horizons traversed by traditional style dhow boats, the landscape here is one of luscious coconut palms and clove trees, spice plantations and long, red sandy roads. From the ancient capital to the coral sand coast, this island has charisma, history, and romance in the air. Located about 22 miles off the east coast of Tanzania, Zanzibar is an archipelago consisting of the main island of Unguja (commonly known as Zanzibar), Pemba Island, famous for its deep-sea fishing, and about 50 smaller surrounding luxury islands and coral reefs. Zanzibar is perhaps most famous for once being the home of the slave trade, and an important trading location for spices and cloves. Cloves remain the most important export of the islands, while tourism is now the largest source of economy, which comes as no surprise, due to Zanzibar’s spectacular beauty, culture and history. Also known as ‘Spice Island’, Zanzibar evokes images of an exotic paradise with pristine white palm-fringed beaches and turquoise waters, traditional style dhows, and ancient Islamic ruins. Today’s idyllic beach resorts belie the island’s unforgettable history of slavery, and Zanzibar combines Arabic alleyways and great historic monuments with wonderful coral reefs and excellent diving/snorkelling opportunities for tourists. Thanks! 50 First Dates is a romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Henry Roth (Sandler) is a veterinarian who admits to having difficulty with relationships. Lucy Whitmore (Barrymore) is an art teacher living in Hawaii. The two meet in a café one morning and hit it off, so they decide to meet again. The next day, Henry comes to the cafe and starts talking to her, but she doesn’t recognize him. A café waitress explains that Lucy has anterograde amnesia (which is actually referred to as “Goldfield Syndrome” in the movie) from a car accident that occurred several months ago. Lucy cannot recall anything between the day of the accident and the present. At night, during her sleep, all memories from the past day are erased, and she wakes up believing every day is October 13, 2002. Lucy’s father, Marlin, and brother, Doug, have to re-enact the same events every day so that Lucy doesn’t learn about her accident. ...Vampires. Some people believe in them, some people don’t. Well especially in There’s this whole buzz about them everywhere you go. I’m April Jennings and IM a 16 year old vampire. So were my parents before they got disintegrated by the Overlords. Okay so a few facts about me: I live with my Aunt Cathy, a normal human. From what I’ve picked up so far humans aren’t the nicest of people. They may be the strongest species on Earth at the moment but me and my species will soon takeover. When the time is right of course. You see with vampires it’s all about legends and myths about having an eternal life isn’t true at all. As humans rot, we disintegrate when the time is right. Just like my parents. Tiara Jennings and Hawk Jennings. They were a beautiful couple. At my age my father was pale and impeccable jet black hair while my mother was a normal human tanned skin and brunette hair. I was looking through their old photos were I came across a picture of my parents my father wearing a black leather jacket and folded black jeans and my mother wearing a deep red dress up to her knees. She had a delicate plait running down her neck and a beautiful red bow holding it together. I remember this photo it was the day my mother was bit from my father. She had a mark on her sun kissed neck I could tell she was a bit worried yet she knew she did the right thing. She joined the right side. ------------------------------------------------- Anyway enough about my parents for now. This is about...
