Viktor Chemmel is a very rich boy who has no intent of ever regaining a goody-two shoes image. Viktor is a very different leader than Arthur Berg. Viktor takes a more violent approach to things and does NOT like to be messed with or disrespected. If you were to disrespect him, say goodbye to your nose. Viktor has a very similar leadership style to those of Hitler. Both of them need to always be on top, never be disrespected, and to weed out the imperfect. Arthur was more of a type of president. He always rationed evenly and let Liesel and Rudy join with no questions.
Viktor and Rudy separated on very bad terms. When Rudy left, he had just endured Viktor beating the tar out of him.

Rudy left Liesel’s shoes at the Hermanns house when they are running away. Then Rudy decides to go back to get them, almost getting caught. Then Rudy decides to ask Liesel for a kiss after he corrects the mistake he made.
Liesel and Rosa have a mother-daughter relationship. This means that they both love each other very much but, dislike each other. Rosa wants Liesel to grow up right and she has a very unusual way of showing that, and since Rosa is sometimes mean to Liesel, Liesel dislikes her.
