...Chapter 1: Statement of the Problem & Review of Related Literature INTRODUCTION The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (BSAT) is a program that prepares students for a career in the accounting and finance divisions of organizations in the private and public sectors. The accounting courses in the program, combined with business management courses, equip students with the needed skills, proficiency, and intellectual abilities to lead successful careers. But, unlike Accountancy, BSAT is a non-board course. However, the graduates of the said program can take the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Examination for license. This study aims to determine the reasons and causes why BSA students end up getting BSAT degree instead of Accountancy degree. We, researchers, will investigate on the factors affecting the students focus in studying. We will be conducting survey in the form of questionnaires and interviews with 3rd year and 4th year BSAT students of Araullo University – Phinma Education Network. There are many factors that affect a BSA student to fail: his abilities, his interest in the course, the teaching method, the classroom, lack of personal direction, pressure from parents or peers, laziness, lack of confidence, family or relationship problems. Another factor that is going to be stressed out in our study is the retention policy being imposed in the accountancy program. It will be explained here how this policy affect each and every BSA student; what...

...Dela Cruz, Czarlie Mae S. MWF 2:35 – 3:35 BSAT – 3E “WHAT HAVE I LEARNED IN PHILOSOPHY CLASS?” To be honest, I dislike this course before because I thought this would be another boring yet very difficult subject to pass, but obviously I was wrong; even though at the first quarter of the semester I had this impression that this subject is uninteresting because what we all did was to listen to the teacher while he’s discussing and copy notes, it really proved me that “first impression never lasts”. Our philosophy class during midterm and final got very interesting because of the various activities our professor had made for all of us; with all those topics that we have discussed, with all those stories that our professor have shared in class, with all those learning we have gained every after lessons, one thing had really etched in my mind, and that was the “Hell is other people” which was mentioned to us while we were discussing about Existentialism. I always have thought that the meaning of this metaphor was our relation with other people are poisoned, that those people who surrounds us are evil; but because of that discussion, I have found out that what it really mean is we look in ourselves by what people have seen in us, we are incapable of developing real opinions of ourselves via ourselves we take our opinions from others, we want to be our own masters, yet we cannot be and because of that we are fated to need others, whether we want to or not; People always say...

...and Design degrees are very expensive to earn at many of the universities. It was also hard to think of having a large debt coming out of college with a degree that focuses only in one direction. I looked at schools such as the University of Arkansas and Drury University for Architecture, Savannah College of Art & Design and Full Sail Academy for Animation, Game and Product Design. But after talking with my dad about options and visiting with Dr. Nichols at UAFS my junior year in high school, I now have a game plan. My academic goal is to attend and graduate from the University of Arkansas @ Ft Smith with an Animation Technology degree in hopes of landing a job at Architecture firm as a 3D Visualization Artist. The low tuition, the BSAT program, scholarships, small classes and the “being at home environment” sold it for me. Achieving my educational goal of graduating college is a dream that will be a life-changing moment in my life. With the pathway I have chosen, I know I will achieve it because I will do it with a...

...Name: guillan Anthony saballa BSAT-1 P208 9:30 AM – 11:30AM Research: What are the different kinds of turbo charger? Axial-flow Turbocharger * Axial-flow turbochargers are defined by the manner in which the fuel flows through the turbine. With axial-flow turbochargers the fuel flow comes through the wheel in an axial direction. With this type of turbocharger expansion of the gas from the exhaust creates an output the helps the turbine to rotate the compressor. As the size of the vehicle is important in determining the vehicle's correct turbocharger, it is important to consider that axial-flow turbochargers are most commonly used with vehicles with a wheel diameter of 300mm and up and would not be suitable for smaller vehicles. Radial Flow Turbocharger * With a gas outflow that uses the same principles as the axial flow turbocharger, the radial-flow turbocharger is differentiated by the unique gas inflow structure. The centripetal gas inflow is directed from the outside in a radial direction and sets this turbocharger apart from the axial-flow model. Generally utilized on vehicles with a wheel diameter of 160mm or less, this kind of turbocharger can increase the power of a vehicle to up to 1,000 horsepower. Exhaust Gas Turbocharger * The benefits of turbochargers are many, from increased speed, power, and engine functionality, but there are environmental benefits, as well, such as decreased gas consumptions. Exhaust gas turbochargers have another added...

...studies as well. The consensus is that retention, regardless of the grade in which it occurs, drastically increases the likelihood that students will drop out of school (Hauser, 2009; Holmes, 2012; NASP, 2011; Thompson & Cunningham, 2009). The effect of retention on dropout rates is no surprise considering that "retention is generally associated with poorer academic achievement when groups of retained students are compared to groups of similar students who are promoted" (NASP, 2011). The National Association of School Psychologists (2013) notes that retention is linked to increased behavior problems that become more pronounced as students reach adolescence. The University of San Carlos implementing a retention policy to be retained in the BSAT program, a student should obtain a grade of 2.0 or better in all AC, Law & Taxation subjects. One retake per subject is allowed in case of cut-off failure. At the end of Year 2, Comprehensive Examination Level 1 (CEL...

...Chapter 1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Education plays a vital role in our lives. It is important like our basic needs – food, clothes, shelter. It is through education where we can put our potentials in maximum use. It is a precious tool in our lives. It is our key to success. It opens doors of opportunities and serves as our guide to achieving our dreams. It is a preparation for our future roles. Without education, we cannot develop our skills and talents that will help us become successful in our respective careers. It is the only way where we can achieve our goals. According to Manali Oak, “Education gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops us in a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. People debate over the subject whether education is the only thing that gives knowledge. Some say, education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is something very different. They are right. But then, information cannot be converted into knowledge without the catalyst called education.” Information is everywhere. But it’s not enough that we just gain information. We need education for us to be able to understand and interpret it. Through education, we develop proper attitudes, values and behavior towards other people. We learn how to interact using good manners and appropriate conduct with the people around us. “The words ‘cultivate’ and ‘civilize’...
