Mail Distribution Centre New Staff Recruitment & Selection Project:
Between February 2014 – April 2014
Project Manager: Matilda Wise
Summary:
Mail Distribution Centre is developing a new staff recruitment and selection project to be implemented in the next three months. This will ensure more suitable and reliable staff are hired by the company.
Accomplishments: * Created a new checklist for employer to ask during interview process. * Created an online program for clients to apply through that sorts through applications and only sends through applications that meet all the selection criteria. * Created new job outlines and minimum requirements for each application to obtain the position. * Putting in place panel interviews for finalists. * Created thorough questions for referees for background checks, with a minimum of three referees from each applicant. * Completing background checks on all applicants with National Criminal Record checks completed as well.
Problems: * We had some issues with the program for applicants to apply through online as the process kept coming up with some errors and not sending through all applications that matched the selection criteria. We had the tech support department look at the issues and it has now been corrected.
Changes to the Plan/Budget:
There has been no changes to the plan at this stage and everything is going through nicely, however we had to extend the budget slightly to acuminate the online applying program in the webpage.
Assistance:
We had assistance from the stakeholders to create the design for the online applying program as well as determining which question would give the best benefit for our purpose.
Time frame:
We are current still on track to have the project completed at the end of April.
