Question 1: In your journal, describe the process you undertook to assess your professional competency.
The process I took to assess my professional competency was as followed 1. I wrote down the qualifications that I hold 2. I then looked at the unit of competencies these hold to see which courses I cover to train that we deliver 3. I then wrote down all my experience and skills which I have gained through my employment 4. I then matched my experience and skills against unit of competencies to see which courses I cover to train that we deliver.

Question 2: In your journal, describe the process of seeking, receiving, analysing the feedback and applying the feedback to your professional development plan. The process I have under taken with seeking, receiving, analysing the feedback and applying it to my professional development plan is: * I created a performance appraisal feedback from which I gave to two of my work colleagues asking them to fill this out and to be honest for me. * I think read over these and made note of what areas I need to work on (looking at this as a positive constructive criticism)

Question 3: In your journal, you should discuss: * The process you undertook to identify, evaluate and select the development opportunities included in your professional development plan. Discuss learning styles and application to your planning * I think read over my feedback and made note of what areas I need to work on. * I then looked at what my professional goals, what my job description and what I need to work on or achieve to meet these. * I then looked at how I best learn and what learning style I am – from here I looked at what I need to do as I am visual and kinesthetic learner - I needed to ensure that my Professional development opportunities/ training meet both of these. * I then wrote down what Professional development opportunities/ training I need and what I Skills / competency I would develop from this. * I then looked at what networking activities I already do as well as what I will need to continue with to help keep me my professional development.

* New skills you plan to acquire. Explain how acquiring these skills will provide a competitive edge. * Acquiring these skills will provide me a competitive edge as I will not only gained higher qualifications I will also be current with three different industries which will help me to be a better trainer, I will also have gained skills to be able to be more efficient and communicate with others while under pressure, I will also gain new skills and knowledge from completing two different courses to be able to move into a higher position within my career. * Examples of networking you have undertaken or are currently undertaking to enhance knowledge, skills or work relationships * The examples I have added into my plan as above are a wide range to cover a number of different industries. * These have enhance my knowledge, skills and work relationships as I have been able to gain more confidence in speaking with different people in different positions some a lot higher than I am (ie Managers at DETE or other RTO’s) I have not met before * I am able to find out about changes that are happening within each industry * How others in the industries understand or incorporate different changes into their organization and how they are/have been able to overcome issues which we may come up against.
