...Chapter 1 1 INTRODUCTION Background of the Study Shifting of course is a way of college students to change their chosen program to another that may have been caused by many incompatibility to compete in that specific program. Choosing a course is difficult. A lot of factors are to be considered. Choosing to pursue it or not is more difficult. Even the brightest student fails in class sometimes. On the other hand, it is unhealthy to force a student into something that he is not happy with. It will only result todisappointments and regrets in the future. The first year is adeciding period for most students as to whether they will pursue their respective degrees or shift to another. It is the year when students begin to question the significance of their subjects to their courses. If the course does not meet the demands of students it may cause failure or boredom that makes them shift.True dedication to studies cannot be easily disrupted by unpromising class performance. Although the choice of what course to pursue is often based on practical reasons, there are students who are driven by a “true calling.” These are students who are truly passionate with what they are taking up now. They cannot be easily disheartened by unsatisfactory quiz and exam results.Grades can serve as a basis when choosing between shifting and staying. However, passion is the ultimate determinant in finalizing one’s decision. ...

...Supermarkets Since the inception of Agora’s journey in 2001, the Bangladeshi supermarket sector has taken a steady and assuring stride forward. After 12 years and 105 stores, the domestic industry now stands at around BDT 1500 crore. As Bangladesh shifts towards the middle income status, all the advantages that associates, such as higher income per capita and urbanization, will further expedite the industry’s profitability. A closer look According to the BSOA (Business Supermarkets Owner’s Association) currently there are 105 supermarkets in the country. In spite of this, the industry is largely dominated by three major players – Shwapno (45 Outlets), Agora (13 Outlets) and Meena Bazar (18 Outlets). Once a key competitor, Nandan, now holds just two stores. In terms of distribution network and competitive prices, Swapno has entrenched itself as the market leader, whereas, Agora and Meena Bazar are viewed as market leaders in terms of quality and services. ...1.0 Introduction A grading system plays a key role in the management system of any school. But, such system does not often relate expectations, outcomes, and performance. As each student desires to achieve a good score for each assignment, exam, project and/or report, the whole process adds heavy workload for professors in order to make their evaluation fair, comprehensive, and accurate. Form the department perspective, these are necessary to avoid disagreement from students and parents. Grades monitoring system is a highly desirable addition to the educational tool-kit, particularly when it can provide less effort and a more effective and timely outcome. Grades monitoring systems are designed to provide incentives for achievement and assist in identifying problem areas of a student. It is the most commonly used means of analyzing student performance, talents and skills. Students` grades are vital information needed in advancing to the next year level and its accuracy is very important. In remote areas, still utilize the manual method of recording and computing for the grades of the students. The proponents of this study wish to reduce the workload of professors by eliminating the need for manual computation and recording of each grade. As the workload gradually increases with growing amounts of grades and student lists that need to be attended, it becomes tedious on the part of the professor to proficiently manage them in time for documentation and file submission to the department...

...Theory of human development provides a framework for thinking about human growth, development, and learning. Understanding these theories can provide useful insight into individuals and society. 1. Psychosexual development is a theory credited to Sigmund Freud, According to Freud, a person's experiences at an early age dramatically influence both his personality and his future actions. Freud's psychosexual development theory focuses on psychosexual stages, with each focused on a particular part of the body capable of producing pleasant or pleasurable feelings, and each playing a role in the development of sexual instinct. Freud asserted that sexual instinct was the most important influence on personality. He claimed this instinct was present when a child was born and continued to develop through the psychosexual stages. * The oral stage occurs in an infant’s life from birth to 18 months. During this time, an infant is focused with receiving oral pleasure. It is believed that these people may focus on activities that involve the mouth such as over eating, biting the fingernails, smoking, or drinking. The theory states that these people may develop personality traits such as becoming extremely gullible or naive, always following others and never taking the lead, and becoming extremely dependent upon others. * The anal stage is directly related to a child’s awareness of bowel control and gaining pleasure through the act of eliminating or retaining feces between 18 months...
