...Building an Ethical Organization Part I Axia College Building an Ethical Organization is not only important but also crucial to any organizations overall success. I am the newly appointed director of the Public Women’s Health Center. This organization is dedicated to helping out by providing women’s services and family planning to those in need. The Women’s Health Center is a provider of OB GYN care with excellence in family planning and counseling. WHC is a non-profit organization and a leader in health care for women today, with the most advance technology we are able to keep up with the ever changing times as well as the ever changing needs of the community to. The clientele for this organization will mainly be at risk women (youth) in the community as well as those in need of services because they cannot afford the treatment. The clientele is usually poverty stricken and have no other means for treatment otherwise. As the director I had the distinct pleasure of creating a mission statement that will strategically guide this organization through daily operations and decisions. The mission statement written expresses just that, guidance. ...Building an Ethical Organization Cheryl A. Boyd HSM230 September 23, 2012 Jennifer McNaught Building an Ethical Organization Today it is more important than ever for an organization to be seen as an honest and ethical organization. There is a long list of organizations that make the list of unethical organizations. Companies that abuse the public trust and are perceived to be abusive to clients, are dishonest, and give poor service make the list of unethical organizations. We have all seen the reports on the banks and scandals like Enron. We see daily the retail stores singled out or being sued for the mistreatment of employees. The list of ethical organizations is a much shorter list. This list is made up heavily of nonprofits such as the Salvation Army, Red Cross and the Susan G. Komen Foundations. What makes an ethical organization? “Many business experts treat ethics like a sermon on the mount. Although it is hard not to preach a bit when it comes to ethics. It’s interesting to consider how good ethical behavior is why the great companies are just that “(Mathews, 2012, pp. 1). There is a large movement today for organizations to be seen as an ethical organization. While it is possible for existing organizations to be fixed, it is best for a company to start out on a solid ethical foundation. “There are eight elements that comprise the ethical bedrock of an awesome organization. These elements are respect, honor, integrity, customer focus, results-oriented...

The basis of the organization is to provide strength and support to our local community. We want to be there for the families in the hardest trials of their lives. We want to give them hope for tomorrow. By eagerly accepting this challenge, we need to create a strong code of ethics, define the role of leadership, and create a solid ethical board of oversight. By creating a strong ethical base, Loving Arms will become successful, sustainable, and a respected member of the community. With all these basics in place, it is the goal of Loving Arms to engender an organizational culture that thrives on teamwork and celebrates diversities both within the organization as well as the diversities within the community we serve. Loving Arms needs to do outreach and research regarding what and where the needs of the community are. We also need to attend and participate in community meetings, advertise our newly formed business, and create pamphlets with information about local, state, and federal laws as well as facts sheets. A funeral home, funeral parlor or mortuary, is a business...

Determining what clients will be served and what services will be provide will allow us to develop how we will provide those services, and make it clear to all who work and volunteer at the organization what we expect from them. Community involvement has to be a part of our plan because of the nature and help needed to help support our mission. By involving all owners, staff, volunteers, and the community will be integral to the development of an ethical and functional organization. The involvement will lead to the success of our goal setting, mission, and values for the organization. ...HSM 230: Ethical Issues in Human Services Management Week 9: Final Project: Building an Ethical Organization part 2 Title: Job Placement Program By Penelope Foretich August 20, 2015 Introduction Statement Here in the city of Commerce, TX, there is a rising problem that has to deal with the economic crisis of the town. The town has approximately 9,000 residents in it, but only a handful of employment opportunities for these residents to find work. The highest employer in town is the Texas A and M University with an average of 900 employees. However, once school is out, their job opportunities for the town drop drastically. Many employers lose their staff, since most are from the University. As a result, it has possibly added to the cause of the poverty rate increase in the town. As a Human Service Advocate and a resident of the town itself, I propose a Job Placement program to bring the economy of the town back up. The people of Commerce need a way to revive the town and bring the economy of their residents back up and out of poverty. I believe creating a job placement program for the residents could help in solving the issue of the drop rate in available jobs in Commerce. This is a growing problem and there are many that need help with finding jobs. What will also help is providing the right job training for those part of the program. Description of the Organization The type of organization that I will be to be Director of is a non-profit Job placement program through...

As the director of MWDDD (Mid-West Division of the Developmentally Disabled), a mental health service that is focused on the developmentally disabled, the main strategy as the director of this organization is to design, implement, and improve the quality and outcomes for the mental health and the social services within the organization. Secondly, it sets the essential ground rules for organizational effectiveness in order to direct the improvement endeavors within the organization. Last but not least, the organization will shape and refine the different decision making, and problem solving efforts so as not to hamper the improvements within the organization. It is important that the organization be successful in creating an increase of positive organizational morale, cultures, and climates, while reducing turnover with staff, improving the mental and health services available for each individual, and putting into effect a practice that is evidence-based. ...Building an Ethical Organization Linda Warren HSM/220 8/4/2013 Building an Ethical Organization The growing number of individuals with mental and substance abuse user in the United States has precipitated a crisis. In 2002, Charles G. Curie, Administrator for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHA) within the U.S. Department of Mental Health and Human Services (DHHS), stated that addressing the needs of persons with occurring disorders had become one of the highest priorities for the agency. The two systems of care have different approaches to identifying key symptoms, making assessments or diagnosis, deciding between quiet disparate treatment approaches and figuring out which State block grant funding category should be used to obtain coverage and reimbursement for services. The systems, Federal, State, and local levels challenge consumers and service providers alike in some cases to create divisions between providers and consumers and between providers and themselves. Helping Hands believe that the true and full measures of growth, success and progress lies beyond balance sheets or economic policies. It is best reflected in the differences you make in people lives. ...The Brain and Behavior Essay Frederica Phoenix BEH/225 Melodie Miller, Facilitator The Frontal Lobe is the part of the Brain that extends from what is known as the frontal pole of the brain and it extends down to the central sulcus. The lobe is located for the most part in the anterior cranial fossa, and parts of it have a shallow more concave low surface. This is designed for it to be able to fit its orbital roof. When you are viewing the human brain and its design, you will notice that the lateral sulcus is located behind the brains frontal pole and this is what separates the frontal lobe from the temporal lobe. The motor cortex is located within the frontal lobe of the brain and this is the area of which we utilize our fine motor skills almost pre-rehearsing them before we actually make any sort of movement. There is also the area for the production of speech which is located within the premotor cortex and is known as Broca’s area. Broca’s aphasia is named after the French neuroanatomist Paul Broca who is responsible for discovering a certain area of the brain in 1861 from his dealings with an aphasic man who went by the name of “Tan”. Once this gentleman died, Broca performed his autopsy and discovered that there was damage done to the left hemisphere of his brain in the frontal lobe which is why this area was named after him. The frontal lobe is responsible for our decision making, problem solving, movement, managing our emotional and sexual desires, as well...

When I found out I was going to be the new director of a brand new organization, I thought it would fun for everyone to be able to put in their suggestions and to my surprise, it was more of a success than I could have imagined The organization is going to be a complete wellness and care facility. The first priority will be to provide residents with the proper care that they need. We will be a non-profit and will rely on government grants, donations and volunteer workers who can hopefully be able to eventually move into paid positions.
