It is crucial that the patient is made aware of the importance of adhering to the instructions after the injection is given. Rest is imperative for three days. Eliminating all pressure that can be directed towards the area. Application of ice for fifteen minutes every four to six hours and acetaminophen is suggested to relieve soreness on the area. On the fourth day after the injection, leg raises are recommended for the quadriceps muscles. Glucocorticoid injection can be administered in six weeks when inflammation continues Anderson, 2015.
