During the ethics presentation, Ms. Aradhna Malhotra Oliphant talked about a lot of ethical topics. The one topic that I felt she talked about more than others is dealing with personal issues when making decisions. Some things that stood out to me were about how we should listen to voice inside us and being true to yourself. I felt like this dealt with the topic about bounded awareness. When it comes to making decisions, don’t always go for the easiest answer. You should always listen to what’s inside of you, even if it requires much more effort. Change your blindness and always go what you truly believe. Another example from class this connects to is being overconfident in an answer and ignoring what you truly believe. Ä statement Ms. Aradhna Malhotra Oliphant said to always as ourselves when dealing with something ” take the time to question stories inside of head”. I thought this was an interesting statement because you never think you do things like this. This can be one way to stop overconfidence when it comes to decision making. After you say something, take a minute to think over what was just said. This can stop overestimates when it comes to what you truly know. This statement could also be attached to the rationality process that we talked about. It involves us going through what was just said and think of different alternatives that could have been said. This process should logically lead us to the right alternative answer or should add confidence in us that our answer was the correct on to go with.
