Thanks to little studies and classes I have taken over the years, I have come to understand that there is a lot you can do with these excellent programs and I have not even scratched the surface of what you can accomplish. For example, with Excel, You can make your life more organize and simpler when it comes to your and your family’s finances. It has helped me tremendously in generating a monthly and yearly report of my budget, and it has helped me a lot being on top of my income and expenses. All these with the addition of formulas that helps you generate a final and total report. Access is similar to Excel but I see it more than a spreadsheet table. It gives you a total control of the data entered; giving you quick access and the availability to make changes on the fly every time changes of information is necessary. At my employment, the data entered for some of the work orders I get on a daily basis is more complex and the need to enter changes is frequently. It is still at the centre of controversy as I write towards the end of the 20th Century because land has not been adequately redistributed among the black people. The history of Zimbabwe before the advent of the 1890 colonial experience also reveals what Chinua Achebe calls his fundamental theme. This fundamental theme is that “African people did not hear of culture for the first time from Europeans, that their societies were not mindless but frequently had a philosophy of great depth and value and beauty, that they had poetry and, above all, they had dignity. Its operations exhibited moderate and consistent growth, required little capital investment and carried low debt levels. Its problems—a declining return on assets and falling inventory turnover—appeared fixable. And it offered significant break-up value. Valuing RJR's equity at the time of the LBO requires detailed knowledge of the company's operations and extensive number crunching. The analysis is obviously quite dependent on the assumptions made about cash flow in the post-LBO period, as well as the long-term, steady-state growth rate. Nevertheless, the figures suggest that, even assuming a high, 5 per cent level of steady-state growth, RJR's cash flows would have to grow at a rate of at least 18 per cent per year to justify KKR's bid of $109 per share. RJR's board played a prominent role in the bidding process. By setting the bidding rules, the board successfully minimized the possibility of collusion and thus increased potential gains to stakeholders. The decision to accept KKR's offer over RJR management's higher bid appears to reflect the board's concern for employees and existing shareholders. Despite advances in equal opportunities legislation, women failed to embark on expatriate missions in significant numbers during the 1980s. In the 1990s, more women were offered international assignment opportunities but they remained a negligible minority compared to men. The first decade of the twenty-first century has witnessed a gradual increase in the number and visibility of women in international assignments. Through a comprehensive review of the literature over the period from 1980 to now, this article charts the emerging themes and changes in the tone of discourse: from when organizations were debating whether to “give women a chance” through attempts to identify and remove “blockages” to women’s progress to, most recently, structural changes in the expatriate assignment and claims for women’s superior affinity to operating internationally.
