...Business Idea BUS 604 New Business Venture Management Business Idea Before the inception of any business venture an idea is born, an idea that is merely the dreams of a individual(s) who seeks to provide a new product, service, or make an existing product better. Despite the reasoning for the idea and the desire to produce and distribute a product to consumers, there is first some methodical research and analysis to assess the feasibility of the idea before this dream can become reality. Pursuits as such are explored by a certain breed of people, a person who recognizes an opportunity and is willing to organize a business venture while assuming all the risk in hopes of aspiring to reach his or her goals, these people are called entrepreneurs. (Barringer and Ireland, 2010, pg. 6) defines entrepreneurship as “the process by which individuals pursue opportunities without regard to resources they currently control.” These characteristics are essential in developing and launching a venture and are just as important as the technical aspects that make the concept operate as intended. The purpose of this document is to allow the author to present a reflective style paper regarding the feasibility of an original business idea. In doing so this document will encompass but is not limited to a descriptive product overview, value proposition, business model, and a market size and growth measurement...

As a vegetable, it is being added as one of the ingredients in some of Pangasinan delicacies. However, due to lack of planting materials and knowledge, the production of mushrooms is still limited. With a lot of suggestions about the name of the business, the researchers have decided as a group to use MousseronFarm. The word mushroom originated from a Late Latin word mussirio which means "of obscure origin"then was later adopted as an Old French word mousseron from the root word mousse which means "moss". From that Old French word, the name of the business was derived. A mushroom is defined as a macrofungus with a distinctive fruiting body. The macrofungi have fruiting bodies large enough to be seen with the naked eye and to be picked up by hand (Chang and Miles, 1992). In a narrow sense, the word mushroom also refers only to the fruitbody.Mushrooms used to be classified into the Kingdom Plantae, but now they belong to the Kingdom Fungi due tounique fungal characteristics which draw a clear line from animals or plants. Unlike green plants, mushrooms areheterotrophs. Not having chlorophyll, they cannot generate nutrients by photosynthesis, but take nutrients from outer sources. B) Business Offering 1) Properties “Mushrooms are small living organisms that look like umbrellas. They are not plants...

...E-commerce entails the use of the Internet in the marketing, identification, payment and delivery of goods and services. This paper highlights the status, statutes, potential and constraints to e-commerce development in Bangladesh. Both the statutory laws as well as the challenges in implementing them are discussed. Major legal, regulatory and institutional constraints to e-commerce are identified. The paper also lists specific policy changes aimed at bringing improvements to the legal and regulatory environment affecting e-commerce. Dimensions of E-Commerce The three dimensions of e-commerce are Business-to-Consumers (B2C), Business-to Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G). B2C e-commerce is unlikely to be of much use in the near future in Bangladesh because of low per capita income, a weak infrastructural and legal environment, lack of trust between business and consumers. B2C for cross border trade is also limited by the factors suggested for the domestic front. In addition, non-availability of international credit cards, foreign currency remittance restrictions, delays and informal payments at customs clearance even for small value and quantity items will discourage B2C. The B2B application already exists in the export sector of Bangladesh, especially in the Ready Made Garments (RMG) industry. RMG has the lion’s share of the export earnings in Bangladesh. The RMG sector has begun to use the Internet, and its dependence on ecommerce is likely to grow...

After purchasing the business, the owners, Bob and Thelma Mellenkamp identified the need for an information system (IS) project in order to support their needs for a system that supported inventory control, customer services, marketing, and food preparation. The system has a strategic focus on improving day-to-day operations for the company, assisting Bob and Thelma in their duties as company executives. (Valacich, George, & Hoffer, 2009, p. 28) The systems development life cycle (SDLC) became an important part to the development of an effective system for Hoosier Burger. The goal of this system was to modernize the information system, by implementing four key steps of SDLC, (1) planning and selection, (2) analysis, (3) design and (4) implementation and selection. This improved system would replace the current system of paper records for the inventory control, customer orders, and management reporting systems. In addition, Bob and Thelma considered a point of sale (POS) system, which would allow them to generate reports that are more detailed and track inventory more accurately. As a family owned business, Hoosier Burger required a...
