The SME has a very difficult job trying to manage the project whether it be for customer service, financial management, or supply chain management. The SME is responsible for making sure that the data being input is correct and that the application being designed is user friendly. Having the knowledge of project management is important for an SME to have. Being able to communicate effective with not only the project team but the stakeholders as well while being able to set milestones and deadlines is an important role that the SME plays. ...A business analyst is seen as a domain expert or a subject matter expert – different from the league of coders/ testers at Infosys. This means, you are expected to do a lot of domain trainings. I have done many in the past and tell you what – the experience has been good. As a trainer you need to do your homework properly and be up-to-date in your chosen domain. Presales is another stream. As a presales anchor at Offshore – you should be able to handle Client Visits and lend Proposal support. This involves market research/ deck preparation. A deck is a suite of inputs – Value proposition of services, staffing plan, costing etc. As a presales anchor at onsite (or locations abroad), you can be projected as a BDM, and you literally get to acquire clients. Apart from this, one can be into Delivery. In delivery, you would be expected to carry out user acceptance testing, suggest improvements to the project has been managed and services have been offered to clients. Also, one has to review test cases, even do testing (depends on your luck – manual/automation/performance are the possibilities) Requirements gathering is yet another path that a BA gets to traverse. A requirements analyst – engineers requirements, gathers and documents them. You get to due-diligence of clients’ applications and interface with them to understand their requirements better. These are some of the streams that I am able to think of Will add more as and when I recollect..Hope this is...

Business Management

...Joshua Primas American InterContinental University Presentation Essentials Christian Embry March 31, 2013 Abstract Rhetorical Triangle is the active correlation between the speaker, the audience, and the situation of a presentation or speech. The rhetorical triangle determines the success of a presentation or speech. When a speech executes the three primary elements of the speaker, the audience, and the situation in balance the Rhetorical Triangle is effectively complete. I watch two videos both of students giving presentations on subjects in which they did a vast amount of research prior to the presentation. The first video was of a student Lisa Amiot, a Marketing student at the University of Ottawa who did a presentation on drinking and driving. Lisa presentation immediately caught my attention. She started out by pouring herself a drink, taking a sip and then putting her keys into the drink, saying “Drinking and Driving don’t mix. Lisa believed in her message and her body language, her engagement with the audience was translated to her spectators. Lisa enthusiasm, deliverance, proficiency, and her predisposition, directly affected the way in which I and the audience perceived the message and influence us to believe that it was of importance. Lisa ended her presentation returning to her drink lifting it in the air and concluding that a zero tolerance law would be effective. The second video was of another student Emily Johnson who gave a presentation on...

Documentary Photography

...‘Documentary Photography’ In the article Between Objectivity and Subjectivity: Understanding Photography written by Pieter Swanepoel, Swanepoel states that the Photographer has been seen rather as a “lowly button pressor” than an artist (Swanepoel, 2005: 204). Swanepoel in this statement suggests that the photographer is just an opperator of the mechanics of a camera and not important to the meaning and outcome of the photograph, however many photographers manipulated their images through technical means when capturing the photograph as well as developing it. Looking at two of the works by South African photographer Santu Mofokeng, Easter Sunday Church Service (1996)(Figure1) and Eyes Wide Shut (2004)(Figure 2) one clearly sees that there is a deep thought process, as well and the social background of the photographer and the place time where the photograph is taken, that is considerated when capturing the photograph, but has also deeply influenced both photographs as well. Born in Soweto in 1956, Santu Mofokeng was documentory photographer in the midst of Apartheid South Africa (Haynes, 2009: 34). Although Mofokeng formed part of the Afrapix Collective, in which they chose the anti-apartheid resistance to photograph, due to Mofokeng’s socioeconoic status and the conditions of apartheid towards black people, he could often not get to where the photos needed to be shot in time as he did not own a means of transport (Haynes, 2009: 39). Instead of shooting and exposing the...

The Art of A.Y. Jacksons

...Alexander Young Jackson was born October 3rd, 1882, In the family home which was located on Mackay street, Montreal, Jackson was the third of six children. When people think about Jackson they tend to see him as being a Quebec artist which is rightly so , but the roots of his family reached into Ontario and because of this his art life is identified as much with Ontario as Quebec. Jackson was early influenced by the works of James Wilson Morrice and owes something to the French Impressionists and Post Impressionists. Even thought Jackson work has been influenced Morrice and the French Impressionists and Post Impressionists . Jackson has alway maintained a definite personal quality to his art. Jackson has devoted himself exclusively to landscape painting. It has been the back country which appeals most to Jackson. We should be glad that he has vigorously recorded a section of Canada that is so inexhaustibly rich in character and is infinite in the variety of beauty. There is in everything that he paints an inherent devotion to his own ideals, and a constant striving to dig deeper and explore more fully the sublet and significant manifestation of the Canadian Scene. Jackson is a sublet colourist and an able teachician, but the most mark of index for Jackson identification is the lyrical rhythm and flow of his compositions and the directness with which he grasps the essentials. He knows better than most artists what to leave out and his pictures never carry an overburden of distracting...

...notification purposes, so other parties understand that the work is protected by copyright, however it is not required for the protection to exist. Copyright protects subject-matters, which are mentioned in the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). These subject-matters include “works”, such as: * literary works; * dramatic works; * musical works; and * artistic works including works of artistic craftsmanship. Another subject-matter protected by copyright is subject-matter other than works, such as: * films; * sound recordings; * broadcasts; and * published editions. In order for works to be copyrighted, they must satisfy two conditions. 1) The work must be original. This condition, however, does not apply for subject matters other than works. 2) The work must be in a material form. Copyright does not protect information, ideas, concepts, styles, methods, or anything that has not been physically published. It only protects the expression of ideas in any of the categories mentioned above. As a result, copyright protection only occurs when an idea, concept or information is written down, expressed visually, filmed, recorded or stored on a form of mass-storage device. In a general sense, the owner of copyright is the author of any form of works, or the maker of any form of subject-matter other than works – excluding published editions. The publisher owns copyright to a published edition of a work. There are several exceptions to this – including circumstances...
