Question 1 : (Case study)

a) Assist Bryce to identify and establish 'team purpose' for above project.

The reason behind any successful achievement of any organisation is highly depending on its employees. It is rational to point out that there is a major impact on their independent performance towards the organisation but more than that it is essential to pursue how this people work together. In order to make them work more effectively and efficiency group needs to identify and establish a clear purpose.
As an example if a group of individuals want to play a sport, they should agree on their objective. Whether it is to get a ball into a net or over a bar. Observably group members should perform with the understanding of what they are trying to do.
Developing specific time bound goals is a proper way of doing this. By doing so it will ensure that the members are focusing on key terms and it would set up a direction for the team as well to identify the difficulties that they face and remedies to be undertaken. Finishing point of these goals successfully would ensure that the purpose have been met. As to here Bryce could come up with a purpose such as “To improve office layout”.

b) Suggest to Bryce on how he can allocate roles and responsibilities among the committee members in order to achieve team outcomes.

The chain of commands are very essential for a team. The distribution of the team resources should be carried down in alliance with the planned goals. Bryce should narrow down the duties in to individuals and should illustrate them the way these manners should be carried out.
The blend of this team come up with a combination of various abilities such as their own expertise, decision making and interpersonal skills but similarly each one of them has their own positives and negatives.
As an effective leader Bryce need to have a clear vision or awareness about the roles that his members has to play in order to achieve success. Likewise each one of the team members should be aware about their responsibility toward to the team. Inability to have a clear sense of vision could cause a large damage on their team goals. Thus team would not be able to act towards an effective outcome.

c) Suggest to Bryce how he can support and encourage team members to take responsibility for their own work in meeting team outcomes.

It is reasonable to remark that Bryce should be an effective leader in order to keep the members enthusiastic about the group work so that they could successfully accomplish the set objectives. Bryce could involve in communicating and inspiring his members to support and to energize them in order to lead them to the right direction. Especially to Jane who is stressed and encouraged about her capacity. Instead of leaving the troubled members behind with their anxiety it is viable to provide them with the skills and resources that they need and to create an environment which they feel comfortable to take responsibility of their own decisions. Providing feedback and helping them to take control of the situation after discussing the circumstances that they face is a very successful way of motivation.

Question 2: (Scenario)

a) Prepare a list of actions to Gary using the following headings in order to develop and promote team cohesion within his scaffolding team:

i. how he can involve team members in planning and decision making.

Employee surveys is a good way to gather feedback and track employee engagement.
Conducting in person feedback such as individual or small group meetings.
Holding idea contests and other suggestion programs would encourage employees to involve with organization decisions.
Online Suggestion systems and suggestion boxes are some ways that where they could communicate their thoughts and ideas for changes that they seek in the organization.
Cross functional collaboration is another way to encourage them to plan and work with one another across teams to achieve higher success in the industry.

ii. how he can provide feedback to team members

He could do it via mail or by conducting small group meetings.
Moreover he could do a face to face meeting to interact with the member directly.
Without being aggressive and keeping control over him, he should keep in mind to illustrate his / her behaviour about the performance improvement or the diminishing performance while giving some examples and the effect it had on the outcome.

iii. how he should deal with issues, concerns and problems identified by team members.
He should stay in control over his emotions towards the issue even though he disagree with the team member or it is the other way around. He should try to talk through the issue to come to an equilibrium status rather than diving to the depths of conflicts. Having everyone to talk and listening to them but actively searching for the source and figuring out what they really need is a good way of doing this.
Brainstorming the solution and selecting the most preferable solution which everyone could handle for the issue by valuing and considering everyone’s ideal outcomes is the next step.
The last step should be to ensure that this conflict would never happen so he should make a plan and implement it where this conflict would never occur.

iv. how and who he can seeks help from other relevant persons within or out of the organisation.

Since this team being in the industry for eight years Gary might have dependable friends and assistants within the team from whom he could seek help. More than that there could be people with in the industry who is highly intelligent in business matters whom he could seek advices. But the way he approach them should be done wisely. Even after receiving advices and help from people, Gary should have the awareness to balance his thoughts and the help that he got in order make the maximum use of wellbeing of the organisation.

Question 3: a) Identify the work team enablers (minimum 2 enablers) that help a team to develop efficient work practices and cooperative relationships within workplace

* Maintaining open communications across the organisation is a good way of accomplishing this. * Creating the right culture within the organisation. * Align rewards structures to appreciate team work is another way to build up the collaborative team structure while pushing the members up to their limits in order to achieve high performance. * Encouraging every team member to find solutions is also important.

b) Explain how each of the work enablers (minimum 2 enablers) enhances team cohesion.

* With the open communication, each member of the team is free to express their own ideas and unique methods in order to maximise the productivity of the group would develop the work efficiency as well as the supportive relationships among the members. * Creating the right culture within the organisation is the best method to elaborate the value of teamwork by developing an environment where individuals are recognised, supported and encouraged for their individual performances as well as their team efforts. It helps to develop relationships with the team members. * Rewarding structure would also motivate members to participate fully in planning and decision making. And also to accept a fair share of the tasks to be done in order for their team to perform well. * Encouraging to find solutions would reduce the time that we have to spend on the issue and it would also ease the trouble by having many minds in the same issue. And at the end it would also encourage members in the team to work collaborate.
