...Common Elements After listening to Case and Kouzes’ podcast and reading Drucker’s article I notice some common elements in their theories/philosophies as it relates to the new definition of entrepreneurial leadership. I will begin with Mr. Case’s philosophy, former CEO at AOL, the three Ps: People, Passion and Persevering. Mr. Case believes that the right people need to be aligned to the right priorities and that the underlying passion cannot exist with only the founder and CEO but also spread throughout the entire company (Case, 2010). “Therefore, when times get tough, as they occasionally do, they will have the fortitude to see it through it” (Case, 2010). Mr. Kouzes’ theory consisted of five characteristics of an effective leader and how to attain ideal leadership. He began with “model the way,” or lead by example; this is achieved by establishing a clear set of values and expectations for the organization (Kouzes, 2008). Then “inspire a shared vision” this is accomplished by looking into the future and communicating the organization’s goals to the rest of the group (Kouzes, 2008).
