...Marketing Sales Promotion Analysis Promotion is the method you use to spread the word about your product or service to customers, stakeholders and the broader public. Not only does promotion get your product out there in the public’s eye, but you have to understand that there are levels to promotions. One should be able a proper communication strategy, a target audience, sales approach, and most importantly what does the product represent. For example, lets take a look at Nike. Nike has all types of products ranging from sneakers, polo shirts, sports gear, etc….but in this paper I’m mainly going to focus on the “Air Jordan” brand sneakers made by Nike, and how they are promoted. We will begin this topic with Advertising. Advertising is a form of communication designed to persuade potential customers to choose your product or service over that of a competitor. Nike has the “Jordan” brand very successful not just because of the name, but its successful advertising. Nike pushes the “Jordan” brand in section of the public most likely to purchase them, and that is the urban community. For example as a fairly young African American (33yrs old) I grew up idolizing Michael Jordan. I guess you can say, “I wanted to be like Mike”. So as I would walk through the mall, look at magazine all I would see is the world’s most famous sports player wear his own sneaker brand produced by Nike. So since I wanted to be like “Mike” then I would beg my mom to buy me a pair so I can be like...

...awareness that’s sets us apart from the competitors. It will be used to remind current and prospective customers why they should purchase our products over the others and try to convince them to buy our products based on emotion. We would like consumers to think of our products as inexpensive with similar quality of our competitors. In order for us to give consumers a positive association with our brand we could conduct clothing drives and sponsor positive activities for inner city youth and other activities to reinforce our brand association with our target market which consist of single parent mothers and African American men. In addition to that we could create online blogs or customer feedback cards that would allow customers to give us their opinions which could be used to our advantage. Optimum Pricing Strategy This company’s optimum pricing has a mixture of low pricing and medium pricing characteristics. It penetrates the market through providing low prices to attract volume and some of the prices of the products are nearly predatory because they are low enough to discourage competitors. For example, the Air Jordan sneakers that inner city youth hold value to are priced at nearly $175 per pair in large department athletic apparel stores but this company could offer that same model sneaker of similar but not exact quality at a cheaper price of $65. In addition to that some products are priced slightly below the prices of the competitors for perception of good value. For example...

Entrepreneurship

...Introduction The Reebok shoe company is like a streaky jump shooter; when they are hot they are hot, but when they are not nobody is interested. This has been a way of life for the Reebok brand since its inception. They wow the sneaker industry one year, just to turn around and lay an egg the next. The Reebok brand got its beginnings back in 1958 when it branched out as a sister company to JW Foster and Sons. Beginning in 1895, JW Foster and Sons started to manufacture shoes and sell them all over the United Kingdom. Even though they never garnered much attention, they were successful enough to be worn by the athletes in the 1924 Summer Olympics. Then in 1958, Foster’s grandsons decided to branch out to form a new company which they would call Reebok. They picked the name Reebok, which means African Gazelle, because they wanted to depict speed, style, and grace. Even though the company was selling the shoes at a decent rate in the United Kingdom, they were still having a hard time getting the shoes noticed on a world wide scale. But in 1979 this would all change. At the Chicago International sneaker trade show, Paul Fireman took notice of the Reebok brand. At the time, Fireman was working for an outdoor sporting goods distributor, and immediately saw great potential in the Reebok brand. He was drawn in by the customization of each shoe, as well as the high quality. Fireman felt that those two qualities alone would make this brand a hit with the North American population...

Stanley is overweight, bullied, has low self-esteem and no friends. He was cursed with bad luck (as all Yelnats have been for 125 years) because of his “no-good dirty rotten-pig-stealing” great-great grandfather who failed to follow instructions by Madame Zeroni. He never did steal a pig but was “cursed” with bad luck along with future Yelnat generations for disobeying Madame Zeroni. Stanley misses the school bus (a school mate put his books in the toilet), so he had to walk home. While walking, a pair of sneakers “fell from the sky” and hit him on the head. Stanley took the sneakers home hoping to help his father (an unsuccessful inventor). He has no idea the sneakers were donated by a famous athlete, Clyde (“sweet feet”) Livingston for charity. Stanley is promptly arrested and convicted of theft. Only his parents believed he was innocent but they are poor and have...
