Why study abroad?
10 reasons why you should study in a foreign country

Have you considered studying abroad, but are not sure whether it's worth your time? If you ask anybody who has studied abroad, he or she will most certainly tell you that it is a life-changing experience and one of the most rewarding things he or she has ever done. Perhaps you're not certain what benefits you can reap from an extended stay in a foreign country. Here are 10 very excellent reasons why you should take the plunge:
1. Study abroad is the optimal way to learn a language. There is no better and more effective way to learn a language than to be immersed in a culture that speaks the language you are learning. You're surrounded by the language on a daily basis and are seeing and hearing it in the proper cultural context. Language learning happens most quickly under these circumstances. [Read why you should learn a language.]
2. Study abroad provides the opportunity to travel. Weekends and academic breaks allow you to venture out and explore your surroundings - both your immediate and more distant surroundings. Since studying abroad often puts you on a completely different continent, you are much closer to places you might otherwise not have had the opportunity to visit. Some more structured study abroad programs even have field trips planned in or around the curriculum.
3. Study abroad allows you get to know another culture first-hand. Cultural differences are more than just differences in language, food, appearances, and personal habits. A person's culture reflects very deep perceptions, beliefs, and values that influence his or her way of life and the way that s/he views the world. Students who experience cultural differences personally can come to truly understand where other cultures are coming from.
4. Study abroad will help you develop skills and give you experiences a

Different Types of Relationships Taking Place

...For this assignment I choose to go to my local Starbucks café. I find myself very busy through out the day so the best time to go was actually during the morning at around 7:00am. Before I begin to go into detail about what I observed during my visit I will say this. I wonder if the results I got for this assignment was simply because of the time I decided to go. I say this because during the time I went most of the relationships I saw were more so business professional. I actually went in and ordered my normal Caramel Macchiato with my Classic coffee cake, I did not want it to look like I was just taking notes on the people there. I see lot’s of people rushing in to get there morning coffee with a side pastry to go, most people all appear to be in a hurry like they need to be in and out quickly. I can only assume they need to be somewhere important like work, school, or possibly an appointment. I have noticed some other people that appear to be a bit more relaxed more so just enjoying there morning. These people can be found sitting inside reading the Los Angeles Times while sipping on there hot coffee. Some people appeared to be checking up on emails or maybe even completing assignments. Because I did see a few people using there MacBook’s. All in all I find that most people are just so consumed with themselves that they are not really taking the time to actually interact with the people that are in the same room with them. Seeing lots of people all of there cell phones that...

...spend my morning enjoying a breakfast together with a cup of coffee. Outside the shop, you can see the well-known circular sign on the glass window, which is the logo of Starbucks showing an image of a twin-tailed crowned mermaid. The bronze banner on the upper part of the shop features the big capital word “STARBUCKS COFFEE” in green, distinguishing itself from the surrounding shops. As I enter the transparent gate, beneath my feet is a floor made of stone bricks, and squeaky sounds are heard while I walk towards the bar. The baristas are standing in front of me, smiling an amicable smile and welcoming me passionately to the shop. A list of drinks is displayed on the wall behind the bar, ranging from Cappuccino to Frappuccino, Caffe Latte to Caffe Mocha, to name just a few. Besides the cashier are a set of coffee cup samples illustrating different sizes – tall, grande and venti. Apart from the drinks, there are many kinds of fresh food exhibited in the glass shelve layer by layer. You can buy pastries, sandwiches, cakes or muffins alongside your coffee to enjoy a light meal. They have an oven to reheat the food to retain the freshness and warmth of the delicacy. The staff takes my order, hot Cappuccino, tall size. I get my receipt and move on to the next counter to wait for my coffee. Delicious smell of coffee wafts up from the espresso machines. There is also a blackboard on the wall near the beverage menu with a memorable everyday quote written by chalks that will change...
