There are three settings in this book. At the beginning of the book, the story takes place in Florida, in the United States. Afterwards, the rest of the book takes place on Cairnholm Island, in Wales, for both the present time and the past, September 3rd 1940, when Jacob passes through the loop.

Cairnholm is an island that belongs to Wales a country in the United Kingdom, on the west of England. There are around 3.064 million people who live there, which are approximately 0.5 million people less than Toronto. Furthermore, the main languages there, is English and Welsh, there’s even Wenglish which is English mixed with some Welsh grammar and words. (Infoplease. §1) In addition, just like Jacob mentioned in the book, Wales is called Cymru
