Last year, as president of the Calaveras Tri-M Music Honor Society, I was tasked with the decision of what service projects the club would be doing for community service. I remembered how when I was six years old I used to go to the local convalescent hospital with my 4-H club to give the patients company. So I decided that Tri-M would go to the convalescent hospital once a month to perform music, play games, and give company to all of the patients. The most impactful visit to me, had to have been the second time we went. My fellow members and I had prepared music together to perform as a band as well as in small ensembles.
