Through color and various styles of painting, many artists accomplished how to artistically make charming and elegant pictures. The style basically describes the way an art work looks like. Style can also be referred to the manner that the artist uses to illustrate his work. It also reflects how the artist expresses his own perception about the artwork. Artworks that have the same specific features are examined to have a common style. The way an artist takes care of the medium, method and technique also has a big hand in determining the style of the artwork.

Between 1874 and 1886 a famous artist Camille Pissarro was the only painter to exhibit in all eight impressionist exhibitions. Within the movement only, Pissarro became a central artist and a mentor. As we know how the impressionists are famous for their illustration of city streets and country leisure, Pissarro's paintings are covered with pictures of the day-to-day life of the French peasants. Another name for Pissarro was, "Father of Impressionism". If we observe Camille Pissarro's "The Goose Girl at Montfoucault, White Frost", 1875, we see a very simple rural scene of a young girl, who's leading her flock of geese into a small clearing overlooked by a massive tree. With the use of a frosty color palette and oil paint on canvas for this painting. The main focal point of the painting, the goose girl, is overtaken by the landscape portion. Through this we also learn how impressionist painter's main focus is on the scenery and the landscape, paying less attention to the emotional and sentimental aspect of the painting. As a Postimpressionists, highly and figurative meanings were very significant for Van Gogh. Through each of his artwork, Van Gogh managed to deliver his emotional and spiritual state. He's one of the most popular postimpressionist artist of all time, keeping in mind he only sold one painting. His canvases with thickly loaded, obvious brushstrokes rendered in a shinning, extravagant palette emphasize Van Gogh's individual expression brought to life in paint. Every painting by Van Gogh gives a very clear sense of how the artist understood the entire scene with his eyes, mind and heart.
