...Camp Bow Wow Corporate Budgeting: Final Project My companies name is Camp Bow Wow, which is an overnight boarding facility for mainly dogs but other animals are welcome. The company was started in 2009 when the owner (Kasandra, myself) decided to become the owner of a dog named Buddy. All was well until Kasandra had a vacation planned and could not find any boarding facilities to meet the standards she was looking for. She had also recently inherited a large some of money in the amount of about 200,000 from the passing of her grandparents who also shared the love of animals with her. Kasandra used that money to find a place she could live and turn into a boarding facility and luckily she was able to find the perfect house with lots of land in the middle of town, so she got to work and the company shared its grand opening with the community in spring of 2011. The company has successfully been around for almost 3 years now offering products such as boarding, bathing, nail trims, and other products to ensure your animal is safe and happy. The location is right in the middle of the town of Appomattox so it’s perfect for people who are traveling in either direction and is known for their non-traditional animal boarding facilities, while targeting mainly dog breeds the facility is open to animals of several kinds. The reason we say its non-traditional is because the animals are not just kept in kennels all day and walked a few times unless requested by the owner, but actually...

His siblings are Richard, Kevin, David, Gerald, and Siobhan. He was a follower of the New Romantic movement which was popular in Britain in the early 1980s. George and his friend Marilyn were regulars at The Blitz, a trendy London nightclub run by Steve Strange of the group Visage. George and Marilyn also worked at the nightclub as cloakroom attendants. Boy George's androgynous style of dressing caught the attention of music executive Malcolm McLaren, who arranged for George to perform with the group Bow Wow Wow, featuring Annabella Lwin. Boy George's tenure with Bow Wow Wow proved quite popular, much to the dismay of Lwin, the group's actual lead singer. His association ended soon afterwards and he started his own group with bassist Mikey Craig. Next came Jon Moss (who had drumming stints with The Damned and Adam and the Ants), and then Roy Hay. The group called themselves In Praise of Lemmings, but the name was later abandoned, and they settled on the name Culture Club The band recorded demos that were paid for by EMI Records but the label declined to sign them. Virgin Records expressed interest in signing the group in the UK, while Epic Records would handle the US distribution. They recorded their debut album Kissing to Be Clever and it was released in 1982. The single...

...January 18, 2015 Case 1 Question: Explain two activities that leaders at Camp Bow Wow perform daily, and identify which of the managerial roles discussed in the chapter figure prominently for each. The two activities, which leaders at Camp Bow Wow perform daily, are such as taking care of dogs and answering phones. After thoroughly watching the video, reading chapter one and also from my understanding of the chapter, I can point out the managerial roles that are connected to the video and the book. Candace, who happens to be the general manager at Camp Bow Wow, performs the interpersonal functions, which consist of figurehead and liaison. Candace way of playing those roles is that she have to keep the customers happy at all time and also making sure that the dogs are happy, safe and well-taken care. On the other hand, Camp Bow Wow owner Sue utilizes the decisional roles of entrepreneur and resource allocator. The owner acts upon decisional roles by hiring management team to help support and manage her business. For example, promoting Candice to general management has helped Sue in a lot of ways with her business. ...CONTEXT Growing up, Suzanne Collins was a military brat. Her father was a career airman in the United States Air Force, as a result, Collins and her siblings—two older sisters and an older brother—moved around frequently, spending time in numerous locations in the eastern United States as well as in Europe. The military, in fact, played a leading role in the family’s history. Collins’s grandfather had served in World War I, her uncle served in World War II, and the year Collins turned six, her father left to serve his own tour in the Vietnam War. War, consequently, was a part of life for Collins, something very real and not just an abstract idea. While her father was gone, she would sometimes see video footage of the war zone on the news, and she recognized that her father was there fighting. Though her father returned after a year, Collins’s connection to war didn’t end. In addition to being a soldier, Collins’s father was also a military historian and a doctor of political science. That knowledge and experiences serving in the Air Force and fighting in Vietnam had a profound effect on his relationships with his children, and he made sure they learned what they could about war. While other girls’ fathers were telling them fairytales, Collins’s father educated her about military history. When the family was moved to Brussels, Belgium, for instance, her father educated her about the region’s violent history and took her on tours of the country’s historic battlefields. Eventually...

...Shattered Glass By J.I. Chavez Chapter 1:NIGHT I was trained with high hopes when I was very young. I was put threw Military training after I hit my gym teacher last year and he chased me with his gun and I was forced to take cover behind my class mates most injured or fine. (no one died). He got in his car and chased after me all the way to a Army base in Georgia. Well after that things just got creepy. He was still chasing me even after I jumped the nine foot wall into the base.(I didn’t remember running like that in forever. I remember doing it once but that was three years ago). While he was chasing me I was doing the obstacle with the other trainees and passing them during the firing of my teachers gun. Then the sergeant and some trainees took hold of my teacher so he couldn’t hurt me and then I reached the end of the obstacle swung on the rope flinging myself back to the beginning of the course where my teacher was being held. I panted a bit but then it stopped and I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital with my dad sleeping in a chair and to my surprise the sergeant that helped save me. “Morning sunshine.” He told me which was a shock cause I thought these guys were hard core. Apparently not all, but dad was asleep so he was the only one I could talk to. “How…how long was I asleep?” He managed a laugh. “About two days. Jeez you are no different from my soldiers the first thing they ask when they get up from a fight or something the first thing they ask is “”How...

...CREED CASE LAW REVIEW May 2012 INTRODUCTION When the Ontario Human Rights Code became law in 1962, creed was one of the original grounds of discrimination. This was likely to deal with the fact that at the time, there was significant overt discrimination against religious minorities. Over time, Canada’s legal and societal approach to creed rights has evolved significantly. However, it continues to be one of, if not the, most complex and controversial area of rights law. Perhaps more than any other ground in human rights codes, creed rights tend to give rise to strong opinions, even among those who may not otherwise have much to say about human rights. Everything from what is creed (and what beliefs and practices are protected under the ground of creed), how creed claims are proven, how creed must be accommodated and what to do where creed bumps up against other rights have led to judicial interpretation and public debate. In Quebec, the provincial government appointed a Commission on Accommodation Practices Related to Cultural Differences 1 in response to public discontent concerning accommodation of, among other things, creed rights. This may be in part because creed is unique in some respects. It encompasses not just innate personal characteristics but also covers associated practices and beliefs. Rights in relation to religion have been recognized as not just equality rights, but also among the “fundamental freedoms” of every Canadian as listed in s. 2 of the Canadian Charter...

...BUS357 Starting and Managing a Business Assignment 2 – Group based Assignment January 2013 Presentation 1. Executive Summary This document proposes the feasibility of opening a new Pet Lovers Centre Franchise outlet at the proposed recreational hub at the site of the former Parkland Golf Range in 2014. We see a need for more pet friendly facilities at East Coast Park and we believe that of all the pet franchises operating locally, Pet Lovers Centre has the most compatible business practices and values with our intended business. With steady growth in both the pet population and pet product sales in Singapore, we are targeting the middle class segment primarily, with products priced between $1, up to $500. Our main focus is on dog owners who enjoy bringing their dogs out to play at the beach or park. With an existing market share of 49.7 percent, Pet Lovers Centre is well positioned to benefit from the increased exposure towards pet activities once the hub opens. Our financial projections show that the project will be financially feasible with gross profits of about $300,000 annually, and net income of about $100,000 each year. Our monthly breakeven point requires us to sell roughly 67 units of pet accessories with an average worth of $150, as well as 53 grooming and training appointments worth $350 per session to meet costs monthly. Our estimated starting capital required is $300,000, 50% of which will come from shareholders as equity and...
