Woodrow Wilson presents his Fourteen Points

It was January 18th 1918, when Woodrow Wilson presents his Fourteen Points Speech. His first 5 points: 1) There should be no secret treaties among nations 2) Freedom of seas should be maintained for all 3) Economic barriers should be lowered to foster free trade 4) Arms should be reduced 5) colonial policies should consider the interests of colonial people as well as imperial powers. The other 8 points deals with boundary changes. Based on self- determination. Groups that claimed distinct ethnic identities would form their own nation. This led to the creation of the League of Nations, this will now be the place where leaders come together and discuss grievences rather than go to war.

World’s Best Hope or Biggest Threat… Controversies over the League Of Nations.. Debate
Woodrow Wilson vs. William Borah

Woodrow Wilson and his supporters believed in the League of Nations because they believed that it was the best way for nations to come together and discuss their disagreements and not go to war, “necessary to meet the differing and unexpected contingencies” Furthermore, Wilson said that the League of Nations is a moral obligation so it will not limit American Independence. William Borah was the foremost critic of the treaty of Versailles because he objected the League of Nations. Why? His argument was that the League would draw away from its isolationism and eventually have affairs with Europe’s concerns, meaning it did not want to get involved with Europe’s wars. Furthermore, supporters of Borah believed the the League would nullify the Monroe Doctrine, “the right of our people to govern themselves free from all restraint, legal or moral, of foreign powers.” | Thank you for reading our weekly newsletterStay tuned until Next Friday**Always providing the truth** | |

Can or Cantabis

...Cannabis or Can’tabis At one point in America’s history you would find people smoking at the airport, in offices, and on trains. Since then tobacco smoking rates have dropped considerably in the past decades. We can attribute this to legislation and shifting public sentiment (Gitlow). Many individuals know someone who was put to an early grave because smoking. It’s a disaster that could have been prevented. And yet, our nation is prepared to once again head down the course of accepting another addictive drug, marijuana, as legal. It is as if we have to burn out fingers again to be convinced the stove is still hot (Gitlow). Tobacco and Marijuana are very similar in structure, effect, and cause bodily harm. Because of this, marijuana should not be legalized. The two drugs both look and are used in similar ways. Tobacco is a green, leafy plant that is grown in warm climates. After it is hand-picked, it is dehydrated, ground up, and used in different ways. It can be smoked in a cigarette, pipe, or cigar. It can be chewed (called smokeless tobacco or chewing tobacco) or sniffed through the nose (Mass. Department). Similarly, Marijuana is a combination of dried-out leaves, stems, flowers and seeds of the hemp plant. It is usually green, brown or gray in color (What is Marijuana). Marijuana is usually smoked as a cigarette (joint), but may also be smoked in a pipe. Less often, it is mixed with food and eaten or brewed as tea. Sometimes users open up cigars and remove the tobacco, replacing...

...Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice. Courage Books, sept 1, 1991, Org 1813. 376 pages. I had this book from a previous class. Jane Austen started her life on December 16, 1775 in Hampshire, England. Austen was the seventh of eight children from her father Reverend George Austen and her mother Cassandra. Jane early life took place out in the country and her time was spent performing plays and writing short stories with her siblings, which later influenced her creative writing. At the age 14 Austen wrote her first short novel Love and Friendship and shortly after wrote A History of England by a partial, prejudiced and ignorant historian. Neither book was published, but these novels laid the ground work for Austen’s more popular novels. As Austen grew up she enjoyed going to balls and social gatherings at neighbors estates. Her neighbors houses were large and lavish and so were the people who came. These experiences had a strong impact on Jane because by her early 20’s Jane’s wrote three more novels where classism was major theme. Jane’s more popular novel Pride and Prejudice (published in 1813) was heavily influenced my Jane’s younger experiences. Shortly after writing her novels in the early 1820’s Jane had already moved out of her beloved countryside town to the more populated town of Bath. Jane later moved to Southhampton with a relative where she lived out the rest of her life until she died of Addison disease in 1817, just three short years after publishing Pride and Prejudice...

What is its brand promise? Answer: Back in 2000, SAP was the leading enterprise software provider in very major market of the world having 12500 individual customers and 25000 software installations. However, it was losing the battle of perception having been perceived as being left out of the E-Business boom of 2000’s. Primary reason for the same was that this was a product driven company and did not devote many resources to marketing and branding. In contrast, SAP should be a market driven company and should stretch itself by communicating its success stories with customers, stakeholders, employees as well as competitors. SAP should first realize that Branding is a strategy problem and not an advertising problem, so the measures that they took like launching ‘mySAP.com’ are not going to help them in their cause. We would suggest the following three-pronged approach that they should follow in order to make it relevant to its customers as well as clearly convey the value proposition of their products and services: * Brand Awareness: SAP, as a brand, should clearly communicate...

...EPGP-06 :: Course MM07-04: Business 2 Business Marketing PVT – Case Analysis Note Dated: 03rd May 2015 Q1: What could be the reasons for the unfavorable evaluation of PV technologies by Greg Morgan? Answer: Solenergy is the top customer of PVT. PVT is under the assumption that any deal from Solenergy would come to them. Even though their Marketing Officer Salvatori had a fabulous relationship with Greg Morgan, Chief Electrical Officer and Solenergy, PVT did not invest anything more than Salvatori to improve the customer relationship. Also PVT did not develop any long term product roadmap partnerships to meet and improve the Solenergy capabilities. Greg Morgan’s evaluation is primarily around the low upfront capital cost and low overall cost of ownership and PVT failed to match both of these two critical ingredients against the upcoming competitors. PVT also did not anticipate the long term utility company needs and did not try to expedite its new advanced, low cost 1.25MW inverter technology. Q2. Evaluate alternative course of action available to PVT to gain favorable evaluation by Solenergy for the Barstow Project? Answer: PVT is already a market leader and their products are far superior to their competitors’ products. They should definitely not take the Alternative 1 & 2 as their reputation would be badly hurt in the market. But they should immediately form a task force to study the current production...
