In lesson 2 : Can You Hear Me Now? The first objective we learned was that teaching can be done in different avenues and ways. Teachers do not need to be in the classroom to teach with the advancement of technology we can flip a classroom. We can frontload our students at home with tutorials which our students can access through You Tube, Google classroom, and Remind through their phone. This idea was an AHH moment for me, as a special education teacher one technique we use is frontloading. Flipped classroom is frontloading a student at home so that in classroom the teacher and student can start with dependent work. A flipped classroom helps to fastfoward to independent work, giving the student time with teacher to quickly catch mistakes and help students. The second objective was to have us create a two minute tutorial with Camtasia or Screen Flow. This tutorial was to intoduce an idea or subject. The filming …show more content…
At first it's very unintuitive, but when you think about it from their point of view, it makes a ton of sense. You have this situation where now they can pause and repeat their cousin, without feeling like they're wasting my time. If they have to review something that they should have learned a couple of weeks ago, or maybe a couple of years ago, they don't have to be embarrassed and ask their cousin. They can just watch those videos; if they're bored, they can go ahead. They can watch at their own time and pace (TED,2011)". Students feel intimidated asking questions or for an idea/concept to be repeated in this model they have the control to go back several times without judegment or feeling insecure. I did not think how the student would like the control to return to something until they felt ready to move on without anyone knowing or how they might need to go back

Imagery in Hamlet

...are used to convey specific ideas which provide depth and complexity to this story. The ghost is a pivotal symbol and appears throughout Hamlet. Is the ghost Hamlet's father or is it Hamlet himself? Is the ghost real or is it part of Hamlet's imagination? The ghost claims he is Hamlet's father. He says he was murdered by Claudius, Hamlet's Uncle who is now wed to Hamlet's mother and who is also sitting on the throne. He also says his sins must be wiped clean before he can ascend to heaven. His soul is "doomed" to endure "sulph'rous and tormenting flames" until the "foul crimes done in [his] days of nature / Are burnt and purged away" (1.5.6; 17-18). The ghost requires revenge and this is an odd request given the religious context, yet this is what sets the revenge plot in motion. Father's Ghost. My hour is almost come, When I to sulph'rous and tormenting flames Must render up myself. Hamlet. Alas, poor ghost! Father's Ghost. Pity me not, but lend thy serious hearing To what I shall unfold. Hamlet. Speak. I am bound to hear. Father's Ghost. So art thou to revenge, when thou shalt hear. Hamlet. What? Father's Ghost. I am thy father's spirit,...

Albert proceeds down the AISLE and passes a sign that says “ADVISOR’S OFFICE”. He slows down and looks into the office. He sees Roberta and Magnus in a full embrace, Magnus’s head resting comfortably on Roberta’s shoulder. From Albert’s face, we see confusion and a little bit of shock. Albert doesn’t remain in front of the office door, though – he continues walking and exits through the FRONT DOOR. Narrator stands. Narrator: So you can see what I mean. What is going on here? ...house where I like to go to get away. It’s called The Rock in Pawnee Rock. Early in the morning it can be so peaceful and quiet with beautiful wet dew still on the grass. As the sun comes up you see the colors surrounding the bright sky. Nothing more radiant as the sun on a bright morning. As I look around I can see every house in this small town, plus the long stretch of highway from great bend to larned. You see cars buzzing by on the highway and hear the hum of a nearby lawn being mowed with the smell of fresh cut grass in the air. The tall stone pillars remind me of the brave Indians that lost their lives in battle on these grounds. The jagged rocks around make me think of when I was a child and loved to climb onto the tallest rocks I could find, as I would stand at the top of the hill and felt like king of the world. Too Busy To Stand Still At the rock early in the morning the world seems so eerie and dark. The sun still shining but the lives of Indians passed still feel as if they are lingering in this hollow place. As I stand at the top of the hill you see the once lovely plaques dedicated to the Indians that lost their lives on these grounds, which is now riddled full of bullet holes. The walls and the tall pillars now covered in obscene spray paint, surely contaminated by the younger generation with nothing better to do. As you hear the loud cars busily driving by, you wonder if anyone ever stops to appreciate this old decrepit place. They seem as if they are just...

Build-a-Bear Case Analysis

...(“Build-A-bear Workshop, Inc,” 2014). It all started with a simple idea that was inspired by a 10-year-old girl. Maxine Clark was the former President of Payless Shoesource and left her successful career behind in pursuit of what she calls retail entertainment. Gleaning the advice from her mentor, Stanley Goodman, former CEO of May Department Stores, she recalls one of her greatest lessons from him, which was that retailing is entertainment and the store was the stage. The happier the customers, the more money they will spend. In an interview with CNBC, she states, “I just felt like he was calling me. And saying, ‘Maxine, you gotta get back to it.’ And I didn’t know exactly what I was gonna do, but I knew it was gonna be something for children, because children require you to be creative. They aren’t really worried about whether you’re making money or not making money. They want you to create something that’s fun and lasting and changing and growing. And that’s what I wanted to do” (Clark, 2012). After leaving Payless Shoesource, Clark moved back to her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri to get back to her roots. Clark had no children of her own, but she worked with children often. At that time, she had a 10-year-old best friend, named Katie. While shopping with Katie...

Chris Mccandless Analytical Essay

...Krakauer plays a significant part in Chris McCandless’ life. My argument or topic sentence would be that “Nature gives freedom, and man’s ultimate joy can only be found in man’s communion or relationship with nature”. “...there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun” ( p. 79). “You think that I am stubborn, but you are even more stubborn than me. You had a wonderful chance on your drive back to see one of the greatest sights on earth, the Grand Canyon, something every American should see at least once in his life” ( Chapter 6, p. 57). “But in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure” (Chapter 6, p. 57). “...they present to Alex a route which apparently will take him to the ocean. He is overjoyed and hope bursts back into his heart” (Chapter 4, p. 34). “Flying would be cheating . It would wreck the whole trip”( Chapter 7, p. 67). “Hey Guys! This is the last communication you shall receive from me. I now walk out to live amongst the wild. Take care, it was great knowing you” (Chapter , p. 69). ‘This is the last time you shall hear from me Wayne….I want you to know that you’re a great man. I now walk into the wild” (p. 69). He was dropped by his Nanny while trying to escape with him in the heat of the war. He was only 5years old. 2 Sam 8:15 emphasized that David ruled over all Israel executing judgment and justice. 2 Sam 9: 1-13. Main Observations: VS 1 – is there anyone in the house of Saul that I might show God’s kindness for Jonathan’s sake. (Note not for Saul‘s sake, Saul tried to kill me, but Jonathan was a covenant brother.) I can hear the echoes of Mercy and whispers of love, the kind of love God showed to you and me that He gave His only son for us John 3:16. And while we are yet sinners, the scriptures says, Jesus Christ died for us. We are all sitting here today as beneficiaries of God benevolence and I can still hear the spirit of God, the echoes of mercy saying “is there anyone among you that needs Gods kindness and mercy. Not anyone who is Rich, deserving, highly placed or educated with many PhD, but anyone who needs mercy of God. I had that call years a ago and instead of anyone I put my name. God gave an open cheque and I wrote my name on it. Paul wrote in 1Cor 1:26-27 – Read God is not calling us to be strong in our self. To Be or Not to Be

...I am now in college! Wow, how time flies. I remember 9th Grade my favorite show was “Sanford and Son”. But, that was my past. I’m in college, at ITT Tech in Memphis, TN. The field I’m currently trying to obtain a degree in is Computer Networking. This is a field that I love, and this is my choice. Two years from now I plan on being a junior in college. I want to at least have an internship at a well known business; for an example, Smith & Nephew, McKesson Corp., AT&T, and etc. The main reason I am writing this letter is because I am in need of a scholarship; financially I cannot afford this. However, I need an education, so I can show myself that I can be an example for my children. I have six children, 4 biologically, and 2 adopted kids. I want to do this so they can see it’s never too late to try again. Furthermore, I will be the first in my family to graduate. Also, I was a high school dropout. A couple of bad mistakes and wrong decisions, and I had my first child when I was 18yrs of age. So, I had to provide for my baby, my only other option was to dropout. I have recently decided to go back to get my GED, and go to college. I have received my GED at the age of thirty-six, and I am planning on go to college so I can get my bachelors degree in Information Systems. As stated earlier I need this so I can get a great job. Now-days you need a degree to work anywhere that will provide a living for your family. You probably just need a Diploma. A lot of people with...

My Secret Place

...My Secret Place Guides1Questions1orSubmit my paper for analysis What is your attitude towards loneliness? Do you think it is a curse, when you are isolated from the rest of the world, left face-to-face with yourself? Or do you, on the contrary, seek it, appreciating each moment of silence you can snatch from the surrounding world? These small breaks can help you replenish your energy and reorganize your thoughts, so that you can start each day as a new one—not as an extension of a previous one. As for me, I am more of the second kind of person; solitude for me is a gift, which is valued less by people than it should be accorded. In my child and teen years, I had a perfect place to go to when I felt like being on my own. In a small town in the center of America, where I lived back then, we had a steep hill on the outskirts. On its top, an old warehouse stood. No one, even older people, seemed to know who had built that warehouse in such an inconvenient place, and what for. Some said that smugglers used it during World War II for their purposes; others told stories about local slaveholders, who lived in our town a long time ago—those people were thought to have kept slaves in the old warehouse. For us children, that old wooden shack was a haunted place with a grim, bloody story of love and treason. None of the townsmen had ever visited the old warehouse. Children were scared and adults just did not feel like climbing up the steep slope for no reason. For most of a year...

Multicultual in English Literature

...DEFINITIONS OF DISCOURSE 1.1. Introduction In this introductory unit we are going to look at a number of definitions of discourse and to try to define some key terms used in discourse analysis, with the aim of clarifying its scope in such a way that it can deal with a wide range of problems and phenomena, but in a more systematic and coherent way. Discourse analysis refers, in a very basic sense, to talk. What most people do most of the time is talk, because to do anything requires talk and, often, texts, both in private and public spheres. However, until recently, little attention has been given to what people actually say and do in particular everyday circumstances. People talk about the world, about their work, about others and their relations with them. And in talking, they do things. That was Austin’s (1962) revolutionary insight into an aspect of language that had not been fully recognized: the pragmatic function of language, what language does to make social life possible. This turn to language, or to discourse, has had the effect of breaking down barriers between different social sciences concerned with the analysis of everyday social life. 1.2. Definitions of discourse Discourse analysis is widely recongnised as one of the most vast and least defined areas of linguistics. One reason for this is that the understanding of discourse is based on scholarship from a number of academic disciplines that are quite different from one another, such as, the philosophy...

...information that is based upon target customers or markets. Market research is more or less concerned specifically within a given market. This is what’s known as a very distinct key factor that helps companies to ensure they have both an upper edge as well as to maintain their specific competitiveness over their competitors (McDonald, 2007). The market research that is used is to help provide essential information that helps to both analyze as well as identify that market’s need, in addition to that market’s competition in combination with its size. Market research is done in a multitude of ways. Namely, marketing can be a combination of different areas that ‘includes: market research surveys, information about customers held within organizations’ knowledge management systems; the analysis of market trends and developments from a host of sources; and competitor’s analysis’ (Bont, Cees de, Hamersveld,...

...about my own race has been enlightening. I have learned that discrimination and prejudice is still abundant in the United States. Although I teach my own child that this is not a Christian like way and God created us all as equals regardless of skin color, religion or culture, we do not hate anyone. It amazes me, that there are so many people that still have hatred in them and I figured out that they are taught this, not necessary born like that. I also learned that something that discrimination can come in from not just racial, but in gender, sexual orientation and disability. On another fair note is that we need as a society to learn from our history and grow from it, not repeat it. While researching trends in the United States on immigration and how the demographics will be formed, I found that I was shocked by the figures that are forecasted. From a publication that was done in 2008, Carl Haub a senior demographer at the Population Reference Bureau shows that the United States population will grow to at least 438 million people. Carl Haub wrote, “It is no surprise that immigrants and their descendants will play a large role in future U.S. population growth, as they do now and have for much of the country's history. But the projections detailed in the new report, authored by demographer Jeffrey S. Passel and writer D'Vera Cohn, differ from previous projections from the U.S. Census Bureau by assuming that the rate of immigration will hold steady—sending the net number of immigrants...

Asasd

...Self Analysis In this essay, I’m sharing with you some of the struggles I endured as a teenager and explain how I learned from the lot of mistakes I made. Looking back and reflecting on my life I can now see that I have made many mistakes. Most of my mistakes I have made were due to my lack of patience and never listening to the older family members. If I had listened to their words of wisdom, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble and headaches. Instead of taking their advice, I took my own path and did things my way. Just like any teenagers, I want to spend my time doing crazy and stupid things. I hate being nagged by my parents. They always want me to clean the house, wash dishes, study and all the crazy stuffs I hate. They always said that “This is for your own good” and I got so irritated every time I hear those words. As a teenager, I want to do things on my own. I want to enjoy life. Play arcade games, hang-out with friends, go somewhere. It seemed as if the more I did not listen, the deeper the hole I dug myself. I remember my mother told me “What goes around comes around.” I started dating a lot of girls around when I turned thirteen. I did not take into consideration the feelings of the girls that I talked to at all. I met a girl and fell in love with her but she didn’t feel the same way about me as I felt as I felt about her. My heart was broken and all I could think about was the lecture I received from my mother about karma. And now, I’m...
