On December 23, 1900 he was the first to send the human voice using radio waves from one radio tower to another. b. Although his work was the beginning of broadcast radio, it was also the foundation for cell phones. c. The technology for cell phones wouldn't be available for another ten years. 1. In 1960, AT&T and Motorola were competing to develop a cellular network. a. Martin Cooper, who worked for Motorola made the first practical cell phone. b.
